  5. Could someone please explain to me why Josh Murray only touched the ball once after his touchdown in the third quarter? At the end of that touchdown drive he had three impressive runs. One for 11 yards to the 3. The next one was the touchdown. The final one on the successful two point conversion in which he made a nice move to shed a tackler and get in the end zone. It would be nice if Mr Nelson would ask these questions but his article was all about excuses: injuries, wind, bad breaks,...wine, wine, wine. I'm tired of the pussy reporting done in the sports department. Let's tell it like it is for once, we were badly out-coached and our game plan was horrible and our play calling was clueless. Every Sioux football fan is furious and our beat writer gives us nothing but excuses. UGH!
  6. I hope the day doesn't ever come, but if we have to change the name I like North Stars. It won't affend anyone, it fits our location, it is positive, it is unique as no other college team has it. I realize that the Minnesota hockey fans might not like it but that too is a positive in my book. We could have ND as our logo with a star above the N signifying north star just like the old Minnesota North Stars jerseys. Let's go Stars is as close to Let's go Sioux as you will find...
  7. I find it interesting that tribal leaders such as Ron His Horse Is Thunder is not very supportive of this settlement. Why would he be against it? The ball in now in his court and it is his and the other tribal leaders decision now. What is he afraid of? If he is a true leader and does represent his people than he should be happy that he has final say. If I was in his shoes and was fighting hard for a change that I could not control and suddenly it was mandated that the decision was mine to make I would welcome it with open arms. Perhaps he is not comfortable with this settlement for a number of reasons. Maybe he is not representing his people and these silent majority voices will now be heard. Maybe he is more comfortable doing the finger pointing and now is a little uptight that all the finger will be pointing back at him. Maybe he is afraid of the light shining on him and is not comfortable being under the microscope for some reason. It is very interesting that he and other leaders are not happy with the ultimate say on this matter...
  8. Unless something drastic happens, Oshie for sure will be back. He was offered the max from St. Louis and they wanted him to suit up today against the Wild but he turned it down telling them that he wanted to return and win a national championship. My source is secure and if he changes his mind between now and September he will have made a mistake because if he would have suited up today for just one game in this NHL season that would have counted as one year in the NHL towards the lucrative NHL pension.
  9. If you look at the tape it looks pretty obvious that he has a groin injury. He was not speared and it is not an arm injury.
  10. Is it possible that Blais is endorsing Hakstol over Sandelin (his best friend, because Dean has promised Sandy an assistant coaching position in the NHL when Dean gets the head coaches job? Just food for thought...
  11. Trust me the white is by far better. Don Cherry did a whole Coaches Corner on it. You can't notice the white as much because it blends in with the ice, although it is true that the black is better for TV cameras.
  12. The netting is up and will be up for all games. I was told that the netting would be white, but it is black. Many NHL teams started with the black, but switched to the white after a majority of the fans complained. The white netting blends in with the white ice and does not create as much contrast as the black netting. Somebody did not do there homework!
  13. As a season ticket holder, former student, and a kid that sat on the steps during the early 80's, I have a solution for a protest. You don't need petitions, you need to hit them where it hurts the most - the wallet. I think student should continue to attend the game and cheer as loudly as you can for our Sioux, but let's not spend any money while we are there. Eat and drink before and after the game, but not at the Ralph. Your student tickets are only $5, but the money the students spend on concessions is what will hurt the most. If 2500 students don't spend a dime at the Ralph you will get there attention! 2500 X $0 = $0 and $0 will get their attention more that any petition would.
