  1. Alexander Fallstrom (from Sweden) has really turned it on at Shattuck. He is only a Junior, but is one of their leading scorers. He might be a player to keep an eye on as an 09 or possibly an 2010 recruit.
  2. We could have a line of scratches that would be AA's #1 line...
  3. Actually they make Englestad Arena Breath mints. Just grab one out of the men's room urinals. You will be the envy of all your friends...
  4. Holy HIPPA! PCM is going to jail...
  5. I would say that this team has controlled play in every one of it's games. They are putting up huge shot totals. I think that this team will find some more offensive consistency and be very hard to beat. The first line looks very good, and the Malone Zajac Frattin Line also looks solid. Kozek and Trupp have played very well. I suspect that we will soon have 4 lines that work well together. And then watch out. Defense and Goaltending have been very good, so when we start scoring consistently I think the W's will pile up.
  6. I was asked if we will see any more recruits for 2008, here is what I think. Goalies: (Need 3) Aaron Walski Brad Eidsness NEED 1 MORE GOALIE Defense: (Need 7 or 8) Derrick LaPoint Chay Genoway Zach Jones Jake Marto Taylor Chorney Joe Finley Ben Blood Corey Fienhage Joe Gleason I predict Finley and Chorney go pro, Blood definitely comes in. Fienhage likely comes in. I think Gleason may play juniors for a year (Frosh Offensive - Defensemen are very rare) This would leave room for 1 or possibly 2 defensive recruits (MacWilliam and/or McPherson). Forwards: (Usually need 15) Ryan Martens Andrew Kozek Darcy Zajac Brad Miller Brent Davidson Michael Forney Evan Trupp Matt Watkins Matt Frattin Brad Malone Chris VandeVelde Brett Bruneteau Mike Cichy Brett Hextall Mario Lamoureux David Toews Jason Gregoire T.J. Oshie Ryan Duncan Talk about a tough lineup to crack. Currently there are 19 forwards eligible to play next year. I don't think any of the incoming forwards will defer for another year. Let's call Oshie and Duncan gone. I don't honestly know if Davidson will stick around, I am assuming that he will. That leaves 17 forwards. My guess is that between VV, Watkins, Kozek, Forney, and Miller maybe 1 or 2 get real hot and end up leaving. Any way I look at it, I don't think we will see any more forwards recruited for 2008. So I predict 2 more 2008 recruits 1 Goalie, 1 Defender.
  7. OK, fine then, I'll take Zajac because he controls play at both ends of the ice.
  8. I'll take the team we have. This team is going to just continue to improve. There is so much talent here.
  9. OK, so I do find that to be a little funny, I think given those 8 names, Mattson would walk into a top pairing...
  10. OK, I agree that we have had some success in the metro, however I think you are carrying it a bit too far. Minnesota is doing just fine. The reality is that we had better 2004, 2005 classes. Minnesota probably had better 2006, 2007 classes. We look to have the best 2008 classes and maybe are getting close to the top 2009 class, as well as a great start to 2010. We are NOT winning every recruiting battle with Minnesota. Nick Leddy Ryan Walters Josh Birkholz Jake Youso Aaron Ness After Mattson, Ryan Walter may have been the next biggest commit recently. The classes are good, but it's all about what you do with them and that is 3 frozen fours in a row vs. 3 early exits. That is what really matters.
  11. I rather enjoyed removing Nick Mattson from the Prospective Sioux Recruits Page. Here is the info that I have put together so far, feel free to add more. Note I also found a blurb on the commitment in the Chaska Herald. http://wiki.siouxsports.com/doku.php/nick_mattson
  12. I was concerned when the Goofers got Walters that Mattson might follow. Nice to see that is not the case. This really opens a wound for Lucia now I hope we can pour a little Budish style lemon juice on that wound.
  13. This is huge... As usual "Shooter" doesn't know $hit...
  14. Does UND typically do LOIs if the player is not coming the next season?
  15. It's nice to make a decision where there really isn't a wrong answer.
  16. I wouldn't be so sure. I think UND is more his style. Minnesota has not had the best success with bigger forwards. Not to mention UND's NHL rink will be better for his professional development. Note that he has not been a big scorer in elite league, that may develop, but he might be more of an all around power forward like Chris Porter.
  17. What I can't wait for is when Eaves says, "Come on, the league needs to cut down on the trapping. It's making the games hard to watch."
  18. Kind of like us on this board...
  19. Andy Baggot is a good source, so there may be something to this. I suspect that if Joe did do something it was the results of an action by Bucky. Personally I can just picture the teams leaving the ice and all of the sudden Bucky's head come rolling out on the ice... http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/sports/256337 Edit: OK maybe Baggot is not such a good source. I guess he can't even look at a roster to see that UND has no Max Watkins...
  20. Has anyone here seen Patrick Wiercioch play? I see that he is one of only a few uncommitted "A" level defensmen in the Midterm rankings. He has descent size and is from BC, and currently plays for Omaha. http://www.lancers.com/leagues/rosters_pro...playerID=325436
  21. Looks like Eidsness has switched his commitment to another school... North Dakota State... http://ajhl.ca/education/college-university-commitments/
