thats a pretty obvious statement. every top d-1 team goes through losing top talent, but not having a top tier player bail and quit halfway through a season

oshie was offered a top deal and a spot playing on a top st louis line in the NHL. he turned it down. just face it. he didnt quit halfway through a season he commited to come back for.

better your life or quit on your team and coaches mid season when you commited to come back for the entire season, 3 months short of going there anyways and bettering his life as you say right? and yes you are correct on the education but most of the players education is taken care of. its not like like UND gives every kid a 20% scholly so thats a useless point but i know what you are getting at. i guess looking back this isnt a suprise as he wanted to go pro this last summer but didnt as the isles would have signed him if that was the case, then things didnt go right for him this season individually and team wise so he jumped ship.

if the islanders wanted him that bad they would have told him to skip the WJT and come right in to NY. maybe NYI didnt want to piss off USA Hockey for the future but he wont even see NY for another 3 weeks. interesting all around, he should take Team USA out for a luxurious steak dinner

you are a bright one...wow. he QUIT. my point since you cant understand is that he LEFT MID SEASON. it doesnt happen often and especially to a player like KO and his talent. of course players leave early but thats before the season genious, the sioux have 3-5 it seems every stinkin year like the gophers and top programs but to leave mid season when things arent going good for you or your team is gutless. many players are probably asked to leave after world juniors but 99.9999% of the time they dont leave. they made a commitment for that season to a team and honor that. KO was my favorite non sioux for sure. loved his game but something wasnt there for him this season so he bailed. and yeah, we are really worried that we didnt have a wjt player this season. im sure it will hurt in recruiting, what in the fk will hakstol do, might as well fold the program let a genious like you take it over. thats cool, you do have 4 proud to wear the M gophers on the USA team which i will be cheering for, oh wait, make that 3 gophers now and a NY ISLANDER, lets hope KO doesnt bail when they get to the medal round

this is such a isolated situation. go and name me another example of this happening to a top 5 pick or anyone of this talent? it was KO and the ISLES decision and it sure sucks as a gopher fan i can only imagine. usually players leave due to lack of playing time and other similar reasons. so if the isles did this in part with the simon situation which i highly doubt then why would other teams do this? we dont even know if KO will be up with the isles. he could be in the AHL and either way the isles suck and they will with KO the rest of the season. i wouldnt worry about this happening. usually a player will decide before the season and KO never wanted to play with the gophers this season the way i read into it. i think things werent going the way he wanted them to go and the isles agreed so he jumped ship and quit on his team with the help of the islanders. anyway you spin this isnt gona help KO in this situation. just looks bad on him overall. he could have waited until late march when the gophers will be done playing but didnt.

before the season many indications pointed to kyle wanted to go but the isles didnt think he was ready. then fast forward to now - kyle wasnt progressing like the isles wanted him to at UMtc in his 2nd year so they both agreed the time was right for both sides.

disagree on when they can leave. i admit they shouldnt leave mid season but it doesnt happen often. sometimes they leave to the ohl or whl like grieco did but this is okposo. its a HUGE deal as he was the 5th overall pick in the draft and a hell of a player for minnesota. i have no problem with a kid leaving after the season ends for that team. if they are going to leave anyways that enables them to get a few games under their belt in the AHL or NHL or maybe if they are good enough to be able to make a playoff roster. the nhl has such different rules than any other pro sport. it starts with the draft and then the nhl teams having rights to players while in juniors or college. sucks for UMtc and im assuming kyle isnt that popular anymore with many many gophers fans.

i really liked kyles game but he is having a down year to his standards and the isles and himself probably said enough with it and agreed to leave. hopefully gopher fans will realize kyle quit on his team and its not all the islanders fault. he bailed, bottom line. the crazy thing is he will have 3 usa teammates for the next 3 weeks now considered former gopher teammates interesting situation.

okposo was my favorite non sioux player. he for sure was forcing thisngs this season with the loss of stoa and wasnt having a great season but he is a top ncaa player and this is huge news and a huge loss for the lucia. big loss no matter how yoiu break it down. wow bottom line..........he bailed on his team and coaches. things were not going his way and he jumped ship which is what he wanted to do before the season even started. im sure it was a combo of kyle and the islanders having him sign but to leave mid season isnt good anyway you look at it. bad news for gopher fans and for wcha fans but what can you do. see ya..................and for the gopher fans that are gona blame the islanders fully for this, please. im sure kyle wanted this 5 months ago and when he wasnt lighting it up for the gophers sofar the isles sat back and said OK, time to sign you

wow if true, thats all i gotta say and from a few posters around i trust he is gone there will be many ways to look at this he bailed on his team and coaches he didnt feel he was progressing at this level having a pretty down year for his standards and the islanders wanted him in the AHL to develop instead hes gona do whats best for him but what a kick in the nuts to the gopher team, fans and the lucia pet and company 2/3 of their top line gonzo with stoa going out early with that injury

well that would be all me so i will take this time to say sorry to the people that are really bothered by that. walsh hall, chuck and others......just say my name instead of just saying what bothers you in general as its obvious its myslef. i dont make much off selling retro sioux jerseys as if its anyones business and front a hell of a lot of money as well to make them right for sioux fans. trust me as im not bumping threads to make myself a extra 5-10 grand off these. its a fun hobby for me and enjoy getting sioux fans what they ask for in jerseys. thanks and happy holidays to all around SS

i will take a sioux, du/unh, cc and michigan frozen 4 then in denver we take out michigan again and cc beats du/unh (cant decide on that one) we beat cc in title game
