it will be interesting to see what happens with fiehnage. hes a 3rd round draft pick (81st overall) and getting no playing time at und. im sure buffalo cant be happy with that being they spent a nice draft pick on him. not saying corey wont develop at some point and get to where he wants to be but i wonder if a year in juniors would have been good. he hasnt played one game this season through first 8 games. i know every team needs a 7th guy at D and 8th for emergency but usually that guy will play a couple games here and there. he may be a great guy and wants to earn his way in the lineup but man it has to be frusterating for him after last year when miller changed spots which knocked him out of playing time and now this. wonder if we see him anytime soon. i guess time will tell. just my thoughts on the situation as im not saying the wrong guys are playing or not. just a situation that will be interesting to follow

Nice sweep at Tech for the Sioux. Eidsness with 2 wins on the weekend allowing 3 total goals. Trupp, Kristo and Toews played very well along with the Defense. SCSU comes into Grand Forks off a bye week and previously they had split in Houghton vs Tech. Keep the wins coming!! GO SIOUX Overall Record: 6-1-1 (.812) WCHA: 4-1-1, 9 points Home: 3-0-1

they mentioned it in one of the recent ones. either 4 or 5 obviously that it was pulled for a reason. cant remember exactly why
-
i think he may need to for his own sake when referring to just scoring a actual goal. the team is doing fine and hes contributing in other ways which is good. it will come for him! i agree on the floodgates. go sioux, sweep the techies!!
-
maybe so this weekend kristo get a couple goals
-
haha, yeah we dont change. there is a tiny area in az that does and one area in indiana that doesnt change like us. i think thats it though
-
guys like mario and others of his mold that we have had in the past are key additions to even making a national title run. hell you usually need 2 or 3 like him. great to see him doing so well not sur if reported but davidson and hill didnt make the trip. so that makes bruneteau on the trip. go sioux!
-
wow, great article and great line from jpl to mario. will be a proud day when a hometown kid like mario wears a letter on his jersey either next season or his senior season!! he has been very very good this year for the sioux and improving every weekend His advice to Mario:
-
any word on who wont be on this road trip for the sioux besides the usual of hill (D) and maris (G) ?? ill guess and say davidson goes and bruneteau stays back with hill and maris. just a guess im guessing we see eids and dell this weekend from haks interview with th and maybe fienhage gets a crack. i guess we will see.

wch blog prospect reviews Brock Nelson: Nelson has started drawing a lot of draft buzz for his play in the Elite League this year and could end up going pretty high in the draft. He's another big, but fairly raw power forward. Friday night he was pretty underwhelming. Saturday was much better, in large part because his linemate Adam Knochenmus(more on him later on) wasn't there on Friday, but was on Saturday. Friday night, it felt like Nelson had to all his own creating, which is probably outside of his comfort zone right now. Saturday, he picked up a nice goal where Knochenmus set things up, fired a puck on goal, and Nelson just had to get to the front of the net, where he looks a lot more comfortable for a nice tip-in.Overall, he was just more effective. The bottom line is that I think some teams will see a ton of potential in him as a future power forward and love him, and some teams will be scared away because he's got such a long ways to go. North Dakota has him scheduled to play in the USHL next season, which seems like a very good idea. I don't think he'd be ready to play regularly and contribute for the Sioux next season. A good comparison might be Mike Forney, who went to North Dakota straight from high school, in part because of his high draft status, and struggled to see the ice, which really hurt his development. -

AZSIOUX picks for November 6, 2009 Denver @ Alaska-Anchorage Minnesota-Duluth @ Colorado College Minnesota @ Wisconsin North Dakota @ Michigan Tech November 7, 2009 Denver @ Alaska-Anchorage Minnesota-Duluth @ Colorado College Minnesota @ Wisconsin North Dakota @ Michigan Tech i see denver domoinating uaa friday then uaa with a hard fought tie saturday in anchorage cc and umd are two solid wcha teams. i will take a split here as both teams have came out of the gates very well sconnie and gophs is a toss up. not taking any chances here as either team could pull off a sweep but im going with a split und seems to have a hic up in uaa and tech every season but on the other hand these teams always play tougher than the top tier teams in the wcha but the simple aspect of talent usually bites them. sioux sweep with a blow out friday and 4-2 eng saturday. each goalie plays and gets a win
-
uaa and tech always seem to give the sioux problems one night in their barns. lets hope we can continue the friday night beatdowns and then grab another 2 points saturday
