In my twenties, I was just trying to figure out how to pay my rent, have some leftover beer money, and chase girls (and not particularly in that order) and I typically failed miserably with at least 2 of these 3 things. Impressed a twenty-something knows how to create LLC’s and obtain trademarks all on her own. Very impressive.

I don't know about trademarks, but starting an LLC is fairly easy. There are even volunteer staffed organizations (SCORE) that will help you do it for free. Now a days they even teach Entrepreneurism classes in school where they learn these things.

Maag and Bo aren’t too white. Our wr room certainly is though. I like Maag, really good player. Just wish he wasn’t soft. I wish the team wasn’t soft in general.

    Okay.

I just wish we could discuss one specific play without it leading to a bitch-fest about the whole team. Especially when that specific play could have led to a bitch-fest about the Bison. LOL.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Poor little 6’4” 210lb Maag getting bullied by big bad 5’10” 187lb Eubanks.

Like I said, soft. Our team has no gravel in their guts. Who are the guys on our team that scare the opponent? Who sets the tone? NDSU is full of guys that play with an edge, it’s their brand. They love it. We have nice guys.

Yes, yes. You've made it clear how you feel about Maag. Too white, and all.

Focusing on his feet, it appears he is lifted because he is trying to run away.

LOL. Okay. The DB started in a crouching position, hung on to his leg as he stood up, then actually left his feet a little bit as he pulled Maag's left leg upward. Maag's knee is almost head high when his right hand finally releases. He was just 'grabbing his leg', though.

Kent Hrbeck would love this argument.

The play was over. It's clearly roughing.

Whatever. As many have said, it doesn't change the outcome. It's just more fun to talk about this instead of reading the same people bitch about the same things over and over.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

You can’t pick somebody up and body slam them. Grabbing a leg is not a penalty.

How about lifting someone's leg up until they fall over? He didn't just 'grab his leg'.

Edit to add: Focus on Maag's feet only. Tell me how that happens without being lifted off the ground?

  6. #1's body language tells me he knew it was worthy of a penalty. He wasn't celebrating with his teammates; he was pissed off.

If Maag was trying to extend the play, why was he going directly toward two Bison coming in to high five #1?

The ref was already coming out to spot the ball. So, the ref, and two of #1's teammates knew the play was over when he flipped Maag. So, the whistle had already blown? That's roughing, isn't it?

This is an honest question. I'm not a super-duper-football mind like so many people around here; Even if the play isn't over, is this a legal tackle? I thought you couldn't lift someone off the ground in the course of tackling them.

Either way, this play doesn't change the outcome. It's still interesting to debate interpretation of the rules, though.

Wait, I think I said it wrong again.

    I think it's...

Talent beats hard work when skill doesn't have talent. And then skill brings home the extra point in the shootout.

You’re so lost. Fallacies non-stop from you.

I tell it how it is. You won’t find a bigger UND football supporter, but I’m also realistic so I state what I think needs to change in order to take the next step. It’s called being proactive. Oh, and knowledgeable.

“Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results.”

So you can stop it any second. We all want the same thing, or at least I thought you supported UND.

Go Hawks! Let’s get it this time, Bubba.

That is not the definition of insanity, and Albert Einstein never said it was. The specific wording you used comes from a Narcotics Anonymous pamphlet from 1981.

It's long past time for this stupid factoid to die.

They flew to MPLS, staying there tonight and driving to Grand Forks tomorrow.

Just saw a charter bus with Minnesota plates turning onto 6th ave by the Ralph at about 11:30 this morning. Could've been the Pios arriving.

Make series this weekend against a good team. Time to buck up and let’s see what they’re made of.

main reason for me starting a post so I can get some Intel from you guys. Have a pregnant wife and toddler and coming in from out of town to come to the series. Tips or tricks on where to park around the Ralph to avoid taking a bar shuttle. Do they allow drop off and pick up closer to the door?

There are three paid parking lots directly to the north of the Ralph. The furthest away, Bank Forward, is $20 (or is it $10? My brain is failing me at the moment. Help?), the money goes to Special Olympics, and they run one shuttle car to the front door if you are willing to wait around for it or are lucky enough to show up when it is in the lot. I don't think the shuttle is available after the game. In fair weather it's not a bad walk. The other lots get a little more expensive as you get closer to the arena. Added bonus for all of these since you have a young family along, you only need to cross one street, and the intersection is regulated by parking attendants.

I will trade someone the Parrot's Cay wing sauce recipe if they can get me the Red Pepper white sauce recipe.

The Red Pepper recipes are posted in these boards somewhere. I don't recall where exactly, but a search will find it.

Yes, I don't understand this narrative he speaks of so often

It has been said here that some players are bound to be drawn to the Big just because of the national recognition of the name. As is his way, he takes that and inflates it into everyone here agreeing the Big is superior in all ways, and we should all be okay with that.

Berry won a title with recruits from Hakstol and has steadily gone down hill from there, don’t remember many recuits Decommitting during Hak or Blais  eta. Time to try another head coach.

Exactly. That’s one of my problems when people bring up Berrys championship. That championship along with any good success in the playoffs close to that we’re all done with Hak recruits. Berry can’t recruit and it’s finally showing.

Do you know who was the head recruiter during the Hak years? His initials are BB.

I also did a mercy subscription to the GF Herald for a year about a year ago (2 day paper and digital access)  Missed the actual paper but it's become a lame joke - at least I can still use it to light my charcoal grill so there IS a value there but the digital access is to total cluster.   Have to sign in frequently and slow "breaking" news.

Totally not worth it and won't be re-upping this year.   Sad but the Herald is going down like the Hindenburg and where else can you get local news?  KNOX has also become a laughingstock of right wing idiots...completely unlistenable local talk radio but at least that idiot Cunningham has moved out of town (well close - from Thompson to Valley City - he just endlessly bitched about everything)

    Good Riddance!

lol, I also use the GF Herald to light my charcoal grill.

For something that is so unlistenable, sure sounds like you listen a lot.

The KNOX website is strictly straight news. It's not the cleanest layout, by any means, but it's a decent source for local news with no political opinion pieces... kind of like this website is supposed to be.

Well, yes. I'm not completely clueless. I watched the game...

My question was more about the philosophy side. We hear about "adjustments", and in a lot of games it is obvious that "adjustments" are made. As someone who has never been there, a lot of times it is just mind blowing how things can change during half time.

... and sorry Midwestern Hawk, I didn't mean to blow you off like my response sounded. You did some work on that reply. Thank you. I just meant my question as a more philosophical question more than game specific.

This basically tells the story of the game.  UND had a great drive to start the game  had a drive on a very short field after a great punt return and then had a great drive in 2nd quarter.  After they we got up 21-7 the offense faltered badly until we were behind by 21.  At that point, the only thing SDSU had done was take advantage of a bad throw by Tommy.

SDSU obviously made some adjustments at halftime that helped theri cause and UND made a lot of mistakes.  The pick before half vs points for UND was the turning point for me.

The second half  we just kissed the game away and gave them points and a short field. SDSU had 3 good drives the entire game.

A football team only ever quits playing football when the coach decides to take a knee.

Great job pointing out Bubbas never quit attitude!

That's a great ability of a head coach! And you recognized it and pointed it out for everyone!

LOL. I never said a single word about Bubba. Loser.

Let it be known that Cratter thinks it's pointless for the team to keep playing until the end. It's best to just give up.

That's a loser mentality. Cratter is a loser.

  19. I've never been involved in organized football (I was a pretty damn good WR during grade school recess. lol) so I'm a little naive here. It seems obvious that UND has troubles starting the second half. They can look really good in the first half, and then it goes to !@#$ right from the first snap in the third quarter. I think it hasn't been as pronounced this season as it has before, but it clearly happened today. Please enlighten me... without bitching about Bubba ball and Danny and all that.

  20. 3 minutes ago, Cratter said:

Congrats on Bubba not taking a knee when losing by a lot with a few seconds left.

And congrats to you for recognizing his great abilities.

Both your trophies are in the mail!

You are a loser, and you have a loser mentality.

In what way did I "recognize his great abilities?" I don't know that I've ever said anything about Bubba on these boards, but enlighten me, loser.

People are sick of losing and being average. I would rather have that vs. apathy and low expectations.

I made a positive comment that our team kept playing the game long after their "fans" on this board gave up on their team.

People downvoted me for pointing out that our team didn't lay down and quit. They played to win until the end.

That should be recognized as a good thing, but this is a toxic shithole.
