Lol. I wish my prediction was wrong too.

And of course I hope UND makes the playoffs....but "Cratters Odds of Predictability" puts that at about a 10% chance.

Yeah, I get it. 10% odds is reality, but honestly it gets tiresome when people get on here and call a season "over" when the game isn't even half done. Part of being a fan is holding on to all hope that your team can pull it off. The negativity here gets frustrating. To some of us it looks like a "loser" mentality. I threw the word at you, but I hope no hard feelings.

  2. Looking back on it all, I should have known better than to have hope when many here had none. I lost sight of the fact that I was watching my favorite college hockey team on CBS Sports Network. Our team don't do well there. Sorry Cratter.

Edit: It's like the Vikings on Monday night or the Twins against the Yankees... I don't know why I even hope anymore... lol

So maybe it’s time to stop saying (in a strong Canadian accent) “Fighting Sioux Tradition is why you should sign with us, have you seen dem banners?”

College hockey expansion and NIL will kill UND hockey in the long run. No doubt about it. All we can do is hope it takes decades instead of years.

In not very good at explaining stuff to people like they're 5 years old. But I will give it a (small) try.

You see...there's these things called "at large" bids....and when you go so far into the season with so few games left...and are so far below the "cut off line"...it makes it virtually impossible to make the NCAA tournament.

..... higher IQ people will know there's always the Automatic qualifier. And I don't have to spell that out for them because they already know about it.

I don't think you are good at explaining yourself. I don't understand how DU scoring a goal eliminated UND. The game isn't done. I'm not saying UND will win, but the game aint done yet.

There was a slight hit wall-side of the redline in Denvers defensive zone.  The Denver player (Mayhew) was jostling with a UND player (Albrecht).  Again It looked like he delibertly bent low and tried to draw a 5 minute penalty by throwing himself toward the boards.  I wonder if refs are ignoring Denver antics.

No need to wonder. They always are. LOL.

If they only had an end zone replay from the other end of the ice then they could have conclusively said it was offsides.

Only if that view was artificially zoomed in so it's really grainy. Then it would be conclusive. As we know.

  7. I have video synced with TH, so I don't want to go back and look now, but I thought I saw two blatant trips by DU in their end on our possession just before the second DU goal. They were both away from the puck to our right of the DU goal. Anyone else catch that? Could have been my imagination.

He used to be funny.  Now its....meh...is it time to put the dog down?

People have been saying this about him for many years now. I think at this point he's been boring for a longer stretch of time than he was funny.

Has every private real estate transaction in and around Emerado/GF County been scrutinized to this level?  Every building permit?

As an American, I want to believe that our counter-espionage efforts do not hinge on an up/down permitting vote of the Grand Forks City Council.

This all just smacks of 'espionage theater.'  We only know what the powers that be want us to know anyway.

Now I'm suddenly craving a Pepsi...

It sure has some of that stink to it. Like the AF didn't actually care, but the "Threat to National Security!!!" uproar got loud enough that they had to play along just to keep China guessing. To continue to completely ignore it would signal to China that there's less going on here than they want the world (including We The People) to believe.

Who the hell amongst us knows, though. All we can do is speculate. Hell, for all I know you could be a Chinese spy sent to SS.com to plant false theories that throw the GOBC off the path of discovering the truth.

If you don't know China has satellite capabilities and electronic interception capabilities as good or better than the US you've not been paying attention. They didn't need an antenna at a corn plant to spy on GFAFB. ... or a balloon over Montana. They can sit up in geosynchronous orbit and listen and watch all day.

The next obvious question is Cirrus ... owned by a subsidiary of the Chinese government-owned AVIC.

Devil's Advocate here. I'm not entirely convinced either direction on the national security issue:

We know when they are orbiting directly above us. We wouldn't know if they set up some surveillance equipment on nearby property. We could do counter surveillance by doing an "OSHA inspection" on the factory, but what's to stop them from removing that equipment when they know the inspection is coming?

Cirrus was a wholly owned American company when it was established in GF. The building was built by Americans, and the admin staff was hired by Americans. Has there been unusually large amount of admin staff turnover since it was sold to a Chinese company? I don't know. The difference with Fufeng would be that a brand-new building is being built by China, which would make it much easier to conceal things, and the admin staff would be hired by China which would put their people in key positions that could help hide such things from inspections.

edit: also, the tall factory building would have line-of-site surveillance opportunities that the existing cirrus building does not

Just curious if Fufeng will be allowed to build elsewhere in the U.S., as if they are that dangerous, you would think they shouldn’t be in the country at all.

There is new legislation being considered at the federal level that would ban companies tied to foreign governments from buying property in the U.S. I haven't looked into the details, so I'm not sure if this would cover all foreign governments, or just those that we consider to be potential adversaries.

I guess I predicted a split, so you got me there.  Let’s not pretend though that nailing a sweep of a doormat team is the second coming of Joe Namath guaranteeing a win over the Colts in Super Bowl III, shall we?

What is your problem? I quoted myself and said "I'm just going to leave this here." How is that even remotely close to how you characterize it?

I was joking. I understood, but hey.... chip and a chair, boys.

Right. Why not look at it all as one big tournament when you are in the position UND is in? You probably won't make the national tournament without winning the conference tournament, so why not change your perspective.

Every year, about 80% of all teams in country are in the same position, and I guarantee you they approach their conference tournaments with a different attitude than UND normally does.

Hey, kudos to you for predicting an ass-kicking against a team that has won 2 conference games all season (1 of those against UND) while the rest of us were doubting Thomas’s.

Like you wouldn't brag about it. How did your prediction pan out?

    LOL.

No, not cranky. Tryna have some fun. I agree with Dave this weekend; Two easy wins for the good guys.

"Easy win" not being quite the same thing this year as in the past, obviously. The boys will come out blazing and won't play from behind all weekend.

Given three guys took runs at him in a 30 second span if the league takes action it had better be in both directions. Yes, I’m saying M17 plus …

It'd be better for everyone if Kleven moves on to the next level after this season. I hate to see him leave, but it's getting kinda nuts.
