  1. That looks like a fun time, Sioux94. When I look at the third picture, I feel like the couple at the table in the middle is wondering, "why is everyone but us wearing green? Who are these yahoos? Is it St. Patrick's Day already?"

But the guy is like, "whatever, I'm already sitting, and I want a beer. We aint going anywhere."

Trailer looks fine, but...bright red tractor?

I know a lot of you around here think you are very important, and your opinions related to UND sports are uber important, but holy !@#$, do you really care that S&S used their standard red rig to pull that trailer? S&S needs to have a Kelley Green tractor for the odd times they pull the UND Football trailer? Seriously, a lot of people around these boards are fudging delusional. Check your priorities.

    Cleveland salvages the last game.

6 game lead....22 games to go.

Cleveland claims the season series tie-breaker, too...

It would be so like the Twins to let the season slip away on a last-day-of-the-season loss to fall into a tie with Cleveland...

But I think this is the year they finally break through and win a playoff game (really just betting the odds here). Not a playoff series, but a game for sure, maybe even two! Gotta start somewhere.

With these grand plans of teams moving to DI, UND had better be planning "the future" of hockey also and what resources that'll take. Gifts from the Engelstad Family Trust are greatly appreciated, but I foresee needing more than just their goodwill.

Seems to be that the consensus around here is that we want more D1 teams in hockey, and I suppose that is good for hockey in general.

My opinion is that it is a bad thing for UND hockey in the long run. The more options elite players have in warmer climates and more prestigious colleges/cities, the less interest they'll have in little ole Grand Forks.

Heck, around here you can't even walk home from a party barefoot without getting frost bite during most of the school year.

Great comeback. (The answer one expects from the typical wannabe).

C'mon, man! It was just yesterday that he displayed his deep knowledge of the game when he explained that the halftime score doesn't determine the winner! Now you're going to call him a wannabe? Unreal.

Some can stop fretting now: Tommy is in this photo. I'd call it slightly more important.

Not so fast! This will be the next SS griefer hot take:

It's clear from that photo that Tommy thinks he's more important than anyone else because he didn't want his face obscured by wearing a helmet. ...embarrassing...not a good look...

Me spitballing.....lone ranger like this incident....no big deal....

Gang violence....where there is multiple people involved...you killed "one of them"...

They will easily find where you live and visit you in the middle of the night...

Yeah, I get where you're going, but the worst gangs in L.A. and Chicago don't even do that !@#$. The last thing 'gangs' want is tit-for-tat war with the local PD.

I don't like it either, puts the officer in danger

how so? Do you know something the rest of us don't?

    • I need transparency in this case only as far as "FPD officer" (to know it wasn't CCSO, NDHP, other).

This is an agent of the government that shot someone to death. Yes, in this case it is clear cut, the officer was not only in the right, but it appears he was the last man standing before things got way worse, yet he still gave the POS multiple opportunities to give up and continue to live. Doesn't change the fact that he is a government employee that shot someone to death. There is no way to hide his name, and we really shouldn't want to try.

KFC cole slaw back in the day was 1000x better than today.

Yep, and I'm pretty sure we can blame the low-calorie craze. The Whopper and Big Mac used to be much better, too. They all switched to light mayonnaise to cut calories.

I'll tell ya. I think Hastings hurt his legacy in Kato with all of this. Just the few comments I've heard have not been all that flattering. Everyone respects what he did for us and understands the business side of it, but lots of people holding on to some hard feelings.

Looks to me like he didn't do Jack for Mankato long term; What he did was for himself, and he took it all with him when he left.

It will be interesting to see the designs. There is room to move things back or around on 3 of the 4 corners with the Ray Richards being the only one that is an issue. Not sure how it will work with Demers Ave though. Given how long its been talked about, surprised there aren't some renderings out there somewhere that show how it would be routed.

Here are the PowerPoint slides from a June 2021 GF Council meeting. They aren't the easiest to follow in this format, but it gives an idea of the solutions that were considered. Looks like the two preferred options will not impact Ray Richards. A couple of the rejected options would have basically split Ray Richards in half.

    Microsoft PowerPoint - City Council Meeting.pptx (grandforksgov.com)

Edit: After further studying, it looks like the two choices were from 2014. There are now five options on the table, some of which have major impact on Ray Richards.

It’s not that deep buddy, I’m not worried about the “history of North Dakota”. I’m wondering what Luke’s experience was actually like at UND. Also, it’s the off-season.

“I really enjoyed my time here in North Dakota. It was a great group of guys here,” Luke Bast said. “I really did enjoy my time here, but at the same time, for me, going into my sophomore year, I was expecting to hopefully get a little bit more opportunity and that wasn't the case. And that's fine, that's all part of the business and I get it.”

The ones that stuck out to me, didn't realize Matt Wellens didn't quote Bast in the 1st one(wonder why):

Bast said he respects that UMD took him out of the transfer portal to fill a void on the roster this season, not to push out any other current players or recruits. He also respect how protective the staff is of the program’s culture.

“Everyone talks about culture, like literally every program,” Bast said. “There’s some programs that actually walk the walk and other programs that talk the talk. What I’ve heard from Duluth is they walk the walk when it comes to culture. That was very appealing to me.”

    I think you're being oversensitive.

And I'm really confused about all the shots the writer apparently took.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. You made it clear that you don't know either way.

A few people were making assumptions about an unanswered question, and they were starting to roll that snowball downhill. Just wanted to point out that no one here has any direct knowledge that they DON'T do these things.

Why change something that wasn't broken, I don't get it.  Baseball needed shorter games.......football no.

I'm asking you seriously, do you actually follow baseball? I think it's fucking incredible how MLB is actively telling their fans that they don't like the game like it's been played for... a long fucking time.

  17. Holy !@#$! Look at the slow-mo of the Foligno "tripping call". The ONLY contact was Marchment hitting him in the head! There was no other contact by any body part. It was 100% Marchment to Foligno's head and he tried to cross check his head, but went too high, so it was only a full-on forearm to the face, which resulted in a bloody nose.

edti: well, there was a bit of shoulder-to-chest contact... still, horeshit call

Ahhh yes!  But the binder says don't bunt so we can statistically have a bigger inning.  We could have scored 5 runs there in the bottom of the 9th there and won 7-3....:glare:

It's ridiculous how rare bunting is now. I hate the exaggerated shift, but I don't like that they made it against the rules. The players themselves could have ended it by bunting or slapping the ball down the line like Ichiro. The trouble is that bunting is giving up your chance for personal glory in favor of what is best for the team. I mostly blame ESPN.
