From your post I'm guessing you had bad experiences with AAA hockey. Our families experience had been outstanding. Great competition, great people, great teams and best of all outstanding results from playing many years in AAA hockey.

You listed the next level in your post. I believe Tier 1 and AAA are the same thing according to USA Hockey. There seems to be some confusion on my part that some believe they are different. Any leagues other than "next level" are for players that enjoy playing the sport and maybe make a few bucks doing it.

From reading the posts on here about tier1 hockey there doesn't seem to be a lot of actual experience with it. All tier 1 teams have tryouts to make the team. Not saying that someone flashing a lot of money around couldn't buy a spot on it. Coaches are hired for their abilities to put a winning team together. You don't do your job, you don't last very long at it. As a parent, if you can't tell that your child has the love and drive to try and excel at whatever sport you don't know them very well. Unfortunately ND hasn't progressed into the modern era of youth hockey and allowed tier 1 teams to be organized here. Team ND 18U did pretty well winning the CCM NIT. That shows the talent is here to compete at that level just not the means to do it year round and promote more players to the next level.

It means ND should get into the modern era of youth hockey and provide their better players the opportunity to compete at a higher level than high school or AA level.

Team ND Tier 1 must be having tryouts this weekend to play Sioux Falls next weekend. Tough for Team ND to win in a series when they haven't even played a game together.

I wasn't paying for the championship side and don't care about MNHS hockey. I was paying to watch my team play. It's ND high school hockey and I wouldn't have paid if they weren't in it.

Watching the Davies-Mandan game. Probably the worst camera work I have had to pay for from a TV station. I've seen as much of the back of peoples heads as the hockey game. Parent live streaming videos are better than this garbage. Not even any announcing. How WDAY can get away with this cr** is ridiculous. Should have kept it in the Ralph.

It's the state championship tournament. It should be you lose your out. It's not a mite tournament where you're guaranteed 4 games and you need a loser bracket to get every team 4 games if you win or lose.

The only sure thing I ever heard about in life is one day you won't wake up any more.

So power skating and shooting etc. camps won't help improve a marginally talented player. I guess music lessons or football practice won't help those kids that enjoy those activities get better. As for AAA hockey, ND isn't smart enough to have that as a resource for the better players. The better kids wouldn't have to leave home to get the better competition. I know a few kids make it to the higher levels by just playing high school hockey but your kidding yourself if you think ND high school hockey is anywhere close to the quality of play as AAA.
