  1. "The university will soon issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) inviting professional marketing firms to submit proposals for development of a graphic identity, including a logo and style guidelines, to accompany the new nickname.

UND is not soliciting or accepting graphic identity suggestions from other parties. The selected vendor will work with UND stakeholders to develop potential identities."

There is no way that the agency that gets this proposal submits anything close to what was going around on the Internet as a hawk logo. I do hope they get the message that a Fighting Hawk doesn't have to be a bird ie: it could tie in with the school and regions aviation history.

It went so well last time bringing in the professionals why wouldn't we double down.

I thought that we could pick a name and move on but if this continues it may very well linger until we have to do this all again. Getting a great logo would be the only saving grace and getting some random company to create our logo doesn't bode well for it.

  2. this^^   If the citadel win, they are in without a doubt.  Even if they lose they still have a chance, but we need them to lose for sure

I don't think we NEED them to lose. Teams that would truly be huge for us to lose are nova, Montana, and ewu

  3. To answer the question in this thread title I think one only needs to look at what happened in Paris yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if some type of terrorist attack will occur in this region, MSP and/or FM, sooner than later. MSP has one of the highest population of Muslims in the US and the FM area is taking in per capita more "New Americans" than almost anywhere in the US. I'm a big advocate of the 2nd Amendment. I strictly own guns I use for hunting but after watching and reading what happened in Paris I will be getting a Conceal and Carry permit ASAP with the purchase of some small firearms. This country has strayed too far from the principals of our Founding Fathers. We have become way too tolerant of other cultures as our own Christian liberties have slowly been stripped away and at some point the country is going reap what it sowed. If this offends anyone I apologize and all I ask is let me know how much your one way ticket is to Paris to help serve and protect those under siege and I'll mail you a check immediately......and I'm not kidding. Our currency says "In God We Trust" and we need to get back to that as a nation.......but carrying a .38 with hollow points to boot won't hurt.

I think our founding fathers were pro immigration and pro religious freedomn. So stopping people from legally entering the country based on their religion seems very anti founding fathers.

  4. University of North Dakota Fighting Yokels...

University of North Dakota Fighting Rubes...

University of North Dakota Fighting Nodaks...

University of North Dakota Fighting Putzes...

University of North Dakota Fighting Hicks...

All sounds the same to me and about everyone else...

We get it man. You think very little of North Dakotans people, it's odd you frequent this board with you distaste for them but to each his own.

  5. That "hawk with parrot feathers" is distracting because it is trying too hard to look like the Blackhawk logo.

Plus, no hawk has an eye with that shape (part of trying too hard).

Hawks also don't have beaks like that or wear head dresses or paint their faces. It's almost as if this was ment to be a logo and not an actual representation of a hawk.

  6. Honestly, I think this sets up as a trap game for us this weekend, especially Friday.  Wisconsin has nothing to lose.  First time in a long time they'll play in front of anything resembling a decent crowd.

I'm a little worried that our extraordinarily weak schedule to date has created a bit of a paper tiger.  Our defensemen are going to have to be especially good, not only in their own zone, but offensively as well, methinks.

Our strength of schedule is bad but so is Wisconsin. We've beaten bad teams which bodes well for us against the badgers.

And it's the first wweek of November, pretty early for the got nothing to lose, which means nothing at any point, to start getting thrown around.
