  1. Using last weeks rankings, a seed does look good for us. Chattanooga lost so we should be up to 9 this week because I don't see a win over USD, who we also have a win over being enough for Sdsu to jump us. And next week uca and Shsu play each other and the loser should for sure not be seeded. This will be Sammys only real opponent this year and uca is on the cusp of a seed as is. I don't see sdsu jumping us with a win over a sub .500 UNI team    . It looks good for us but obviously the committee is incompetent so it should be a tense selection show. But if uni beats sdsu we should be pretty locked into the 8 seed.

I know there is this silly narrative that if you don't like whatever the hell you call what sme did you wouldn't like anything other than the sioux head but if they would have chosen this logo I truly believe it would go along way to make this all better. It is a great logo that doesn't look like it should be on the side of a company truck and it feels like it could be a North Dakota logo (sme tried to make it a North Dakota logo in about the most forced way possible). But again the fact that a bird has feathers and Indians have feathers means this is way out of bounds. I was hoping Schafer would try to at least pump the brakes on this runaway train but he did not.

I'm holding out that this is just a sacrificial logo that will get us past this phase where we pick logo and names to make every one but members of the school and state happy and then we can regroup and put something real and meaningful into place.

Anyone else think INTERIM president Schafer overstepped his bounds on this one?!

I appreciate Schafer doing it this way. It would have been great to get it right on the first try but we didn't. Now that we have a logo and he did it quickly without making a total mockery of the process, it means a new president can come in a make a change if we truly need to, without the fear of a reliving truly the worst imaginable process to get there.

Let's imagine you're a junior or senior playing in the national championship game.  How likely are you to want to call it quits knowing you're the team's leader and best player?  If Sam Anas played for UND in that same exact situation, we'd likely be applauding how "gutsy" and "courageous" he was for even attempting to continue playing.

Ya, but I'm not the slightest bit impartial when it comes to my favorite sports team. Schmaltz could have sat out the a game with a hang nail and I'd probably defend him.

Why would I compare how I felt about an opponents actions to UND actions?

I got tired of the constant running back to the locker room and camera fixated on him grimacing. Would I have if it was a sioux player? Nope.

I just couldn't disagree with you more.  Was I hating life in third period Thursday night?  Yes, without a doubt.  Did I even once consider it bad coaching, or laziness, or a lack of caring?  Not once.  The fact is hockey is a momentum sport, and Denver got on a roll, and perhaps due to recent history, UND didn't handle it very well.  Part of the reason Denver got on a roll is because they were really good, one of the top three teams in the country, along with St. Cloud.  And I recognized that the other team has a say in what goes on during a game, and it doesn't mean the UND players don't care or are choking.

I'll grant you this.  Emotional comments posted in the heat of the moment are likely to be honest, and reflect your true feelings.  So if it reveals, for all to see, a lack of respect for players or coaches, do you really want to post it?

And it's safe to say that speez has never, ever posted comments disrespectful of any of the players or coaches, in haste or after lengthy consideration.  Ever.

Ah yes. If you think that the effort and focus went down in the against Denver and was dissapointed to give up a 2 goal lead in semi's of the FF you actually hate the players and the coach and the program and think they are awful human being. They're probably closeted gopher fans right? Maybe you can come teach all the terrible fans how to be a real sioux fan like yourself.

I have followed this team for years and watch every game I can....just because I am not posting on this board doesn't mean I am not reading it. However, from now on, I will leave the posting to the regulars.  Again, sorry to have offended some of you.

I think maybe the regulars should log off during game time if some people unhappy about giving up a leads offends their delicate sensibilities so easily. Fan is short for fanatic.
