Are you kidding me?!?  We haven't rested starters in a single game yet this year...what makes you think we will do it Saturday?!?  It's going to be a dogfight to the end...

Respectfully disagree.  We should be healthy after our long break but we won't be rusty.  Our guys are confident and very hungry and they've practiced hard and effectively.  We've seen our QB emerge in the recent games to become one of the best in the fcs.  These eastern teams always come with a good RB and an above average defensive player or two but little else.  We'll wear them down with our running game and we are now a great passing team if that is necessary.

One game suspension on paper, but I bet he doesn't see the field the rest of the year

I'll take that bet.  I think he sees the field his first game back

The idiot in the shirt was very intentional about his actions and his message. He bought the shirt (might have even designed it) and made the choice to wear it in a public event. Actually looks like the kind of guy that still lives in his parent's basement.

It's surprising some one hasn't identified this person yet. Talk about embarassing

There was no release of prisoners. No one ran away. They were not arrested again later after escaping. The charge against Bina was dismissed (which means the judge didn't believe that he was trying to help the others escape), the other 2 plead guilty to being minors in a bar. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2007/07/01_binas.php

no matter how the media presented this, Bina, toews and Oshie were given nearly a free pass on this deal.  It helps when the lawyers and judges of the town are all hockey fans.  I say give the football player the same second chance and if he reoffends  then pull his scholly and kick him off the team

    Correct.

Robbie Bina didn't require being hog tied and masked when he opened the squad door for oshie

    1. I repeat: there shouldn't be a different standard to football players than hockey players.  Let's wait and see all the facts and conditions and go from there

My thoughts as well. Unless there's information not yet known or released, he needs to go.

We may not know the whole story but when you are in trouble with law, fair or not, you don't resist arrest.  The kid has a lot to learn yet and I'd like to see more info and the way he handles this after he is sobered up before I judge what should be done.  I wouldn't give up on the kid just yet.  Around five years ago when our hockey player Bina opened a police car door releasing a couple of teammates from arrest and they all ran away but were arrested again later all three of them played in the hockey game that next weekend.  Seems like it would be a UND double standard to come down on a football player more severly than a hockey player

We match up better with the ndsus,UNIs, citadels of the world than the e wash's, sam Houston's, sdsu's of the world.  I would like to see the committee put und in the ndsu bracket.

I think that's where we'll be cause it's a bus trip game.  Lennon used to say about the playoffs, "once you're in anything can happen"

When the ND State Legislature meets in January, there will be some very serious discussions regarding funding on higher education. ND's 2 largest economies are still not doing very well, and until prices go up for oil and farm commodities the state will not have the funds like they used to for higher education.

The budget will be compressed some but even if there is money galore in the state coffers none will be used for sports complexes or expansions.  This is ND

Unless of course we do what Wyoming does and have one school for the entire state. Of course, I wouldn't want to have a mediocre FBS program year after year like the Cowboys have.

    The Cowboys are mediocre?

What's that have to do with a new larger stafium?

If they get into a fbs conference with a enhanced tv contract and teams in the basketball tourney and such there would be money to help pay for things

It is pretty sad with all the success there doesn't seem to be any real discussion of having a NDSU football stadium for the future.

Without a conference invite to the fbs not much else can happen

That is what scares me a bit too. 2 of those sacks were right to the healed up ribs.

Not to worry,  after a bone breaks and heals properly it is stronger than the original.

I watched his press conference and he definitely  was doing the old we let them hang around even though they couldn't carry our jock straps bs.  It's clear that he thinks they gave us everything and we didn't exactly earn it.  Good luck to him, he's a great leader.

Once again, it was showen to them that a good FCS team is at least par to a mac team.  It's a fact that is to much for him and a lot of others to absorb so they remain in denial.

The only thing written about what protections FCC wanted was exclusive pre and post game locker room access (taken from Heitkamp's article). That is nowhere near the same stratosphere of the media restrictions originally put in place and then rescinded. This is the exact false assumption I was talking about. Once NDSU releases the bids (as was requested by FCC over a week ago), we'll know for sure, but I feel pretty confident that if they would have wanted the exact same thing they were complaining about, Heitkamp would have said exactly that.

My take from Heitkamp's piece was the restrictions were nearly identical.  Basically Izzo and Kolpac were bitching about the same restrctions that Form Cumunications were demanding.  Then the form put in there that if the football won less than 8 games some money would have to be returned to Form Comm.  We all like to hate on mooU but I'd tell Form Comm to hit the road too.  Everyone seems greasy in this deal.  The only portion that appears to be acting appropriately out of this is KVLY.

As far as the bids and negotiations there is a lot of stink to go around for everyone involved.  The Dean B crap show is just that. I dont think he has any hope of continuing at NDSU and will more than likely will finish out as a lame duck pres. IMO

Yes, unfortunately there seems to be lies and deceit all over this deal.  It gets nausiating

I get a kick out of how fast FargoU fans have turned on the two guys that have been first class in covering NDSU the last 5-10 years, including a lot of kid glove treatments. They also seem to be confused about what was supposedly in Forum Communications bid. If Heitkamp is to be believed (I know, but let's just go with it), Forum Comm had a few stipulations:

    1. Exclusive pre and post game access to the locker room. This isn't even close to what RFM and KVLY were originally given. Does anyone even report from the locker room currently? If they do, it's minimal and coverage for other outlets would have been affected minimally.
    2. Access to ESPN feeds. No clue why or how that is even possible, but whatever. Likely would have been excluded because I'm not sure NDSU has the ability to grant that.
    3. Amount of contract contingent on winning at least 8 games a season. Depending on what the base amount was and how much less the contract would be worth if they didn't win 8 games, I'm not even sure how big of a deal this is. If the base offer was higher than the others, then FCC is just protecting themselves because who knows how quick the bandwagon might empty if there is a poor season. Did NDSU leave money on the table because they were unsure about winning 8 games every year. Again the difference between the amounts is key to how big of a deal this is.

At least FCC put those in their proposal (again, per Heitkamp). Did RFM and KVLY even put the items they were granted in their proposal or did JJ and ML get upset and grant them after the fact? Big difference, and if NDSU was able to walk back everything that fast, I'm guessing they were being spiteful and arrogant and decided to grant the new access rules after the fact.

As bad as t looks for DB and ML, it is nearly as bad for FCC and all there involved.  FCC wanted the same protections that they were whining about.  Of course their jobs aren't in jeopardy.  Gotta wonder how long DB stays or is allowed too stay on.

Ya, to say it over a conversation is one thing, but to put it in text/email form. STUPID. He should've known guys like Port are out there and will jump all over it. Ego might've gotten the best of him here.

They maybe should be fired for lack of intelligence.  Seriously, being out maneuvered by Port!

From what I understand is  WDAY-Foolum were offerded the rights. They said fine they would pay the money but if you dont win 8 games you start paying us. The negotiations went down hill from there.

That makes it sound like Dom and Izzo should be pissed at Form management for effing up a good thing.  Hard to tell who is right or wrong here with the limited info but it is hard to identify any winners
