yes...but the less u send to washington the more you have for your local streets and new water treatment plants...it's the idea of people that claim they can't afford to feed themselves but have a 20k suv in the parking lot.

Try at least a 40k suv

Will you be the flagship when SU has double the enrollment?  Take a good  look a the people in power in ND.

Neither UND or Grand Forks control there own destiny. Both places are not liked.

I'm going to contradict the last two sentences of your post.  The legislature gives us damb near twice the money or funding as su if you include the Med school and the 30 million from the student loan trust account.  Being able to tap the student loan trust fund displays how the legislature is  willing to go above and beyond for this system and that has always been and will continue to be.   Because of this there will be growth, but not to 20000 students. There is a lot of love in Bismarck for UND

What will it be like next year with our real players back?

I don' care for you referencing our backups this way.  They've shown that they can't take us to the promised land but next year they'll be more experienced and I'd expect a little more physical.  As for this year,  they have busted their ass trying but they just don't have it yet.  Most weren't supposed to see the field much this year

    10,000? You mean 6,000?

If the FTE number I saw is correct we are not much above 10000 now.  The total enrollment number is around 15000 with 20%+ being online or off campus so putting 20000 students on campus in the next 8 years looks kinda undoable to me

He has a vision of what UND will become and the plan includes very relevant athletics and that can't happen without great football and men's basketball.  2025 UND will have more than 20,000 students.

I like your ambition and vision but where are another 10000 students going to come from?

How did Zimmerman not start?  He looks markedly better than Heidlebaugh.

There is this thing called the "good old boys club" and Bubba rubs shoulders with it

Fickle fan base my butt - this season has turned into a dumpster fire.  Bubba had several selling points when he got the job - let's see how he's doing

    1.  Change the culture - no sideline dancing but other than that this is the second serious incident this year and the team is playing soft

    2.  Recruit players to play "Bubba Ball" - In the world of smash face football our faces are the ones getting smashed - injuries are a part, but see item one about playing soft

    3.  No more humiliations - some of the worst beatings and pathetic halves of football I have ever seen have taken place starting with last year's playoff game.

    4.  Be competitive with the school to the south - years away

    5. Improve the game day experience and attendance - this year started well - let's see how long it lasts

Bubba has some work to do - he is still basking in the glow of what the good old boys portrayed him as and being and also being not Mussman, but as they said in the movie The Hustler - "Time to shoot pool, Fast Eddy".

You are calling a "horse" a horse in this post and it is hard to dispute it. I think our fans are still on board but we really do need to see the points made improved or it may get ugly.

If I was a parent of a potential recruit there's no way in hell I encourage my boy to even thing of attending this school after reading some of the sh@t that I've read hear

I don't see it being that bad.  There are nearly 80 members of the team, there are bound to be a couple non conformers out o that amount.

Fargodone  tax still on 40-50 million there right? If the diversion isn't built frees up sales tax dollars. Bison FB really important in Fargo if they need tax dollars to get there they will try.

The FD meets the city's needs fine.  It would be Bison football that needs a larger one and the money would have to be raised by them and I don't see them coming up with 200 million.

I'll get blasted for this but I'll say it anyways. I've never understood the hype around this team.

    1. In my assessment it was questionable for the 2016 team to receive a playoff bye ranking, only beating 4 teams with a winning record. Those records 7-4, 7-4, 6-5, and 6-5. I don't think any of those teams made the playoffs. Last year's schedule was soft and the early exit (not neccesarily the choking fashion they lost) was predictable.

    2. This year's schedule is much stronger than last year's (I still thought 2-2 at this point). I thought 6-5, 7-4 would be about where they'd finish since the big sky is weak.

I did not expect the 2017 team to get repeatedly embarrassed like this...

I'm not gonna blast you.  I wondered about the hype to at the start of the season.  I wanted to see something first and after the Utah game I thought we were allright.  Your last line in your post is where we're all at

They also had the opening kickoff TD called back - not saying it shouldn't have been but what the hell are we doing on special teams again.  Blocked field goal also.  Special teams has been a weakness all season, mostly due to lack of game and assignment discipline.

It surprises me that this Bubba coached team is making the undisciplined type of miscues that nullify scores and yards.  It seems to be more than lack of momentum

I wonder what the composition of this game would have been if they refs hadn't blown that offensive P.I. call that took away that TD. I feel like that momentum would have helped the team.

Now you are grasping at straws.

The Legislature getting involved in something it probably shouldn't, possibly without adequate information and perhaps with a questionable motive? Say it ain't so!

At least this time they aren't doing any damage

Contact the GF Herald and let them know. They should understand if they have a bit of competitive understanding and/or control over the situation.

In my opinion, the Herald shouldn't print NDSU stories; that's the Forums job and interested Ag school fans can pursue stories there. GF and UND have their own DI football team and that team happens to be in competition with NDSU; thus, the Herald *should* leave NDSU alone and cover UND!

With all that said, the whole Forum Communications ownership thing is probably an issue that works in NDSU's favor - damn.

I read the Forum occasionally and they often print coverage of UND sports and there will always be some crossover between the two papers.  We need to remember that there are many UND fans around Fargo and some NDSU fans in NE ND.  Four days in a row does seem like a lot though

Sidebar: I saw the rules about booting you off if no one takes the "volunteer your seat" offer yesterday.

If they boot you, if they get you there 1-2 hours late (versus original arrival time) they owe you 2x the price of your ticket.
If they boot you, and if they get you there more than 2 hours late (versus original arrival time) they owe you at least 4x the price of your ticket!

But if those people weren't Champion Club members, you also get that extra money.  Plus I believe they are increasing the money required for each level of the club.

These increased season ticket sales may grow into something but they need to charge more and require champions club membership,  I'm sure that is the plan going forward and it'll help a lot if we get another strong season out of the team as people won't be as likely to jump ship because of an increase in the next years fees.
