Oddly, I've also had that thought. I'm surprised there isn't a massive attached luxury building for them there yet.

They already have their own on demand chef.

Perhaps they could use a room from the new med school building for their luxury lounge as it looks a little over built and we'd be getting the state to flip  the bill there

Got a note from Bubba a few days ago that we have sold 475 new season tickets since last year.  That's a nice number for this time of year.  Any extra butts in the seats means extra $$.

It will help for atmosphere and to keep building the program but at $80/season ticket it won't be enough money to raise salaries.

The Herald should be embarrassed about the first article they put out.

Yes they should.  All universities have such people simply because they have too.  Donors and potential donors don't have to write any checks if they choose not too.  It's not like an appropriation.  These have to be schmoozed a little

I mean, it totally would have made sense to turn down a job that offered almost a 50% raise at a larger university that also isn't dealing with huge budget cuts, but people wrote him nice e-mails and that is clearly what changed his mind.

Yes, not to hard to read this one

NDSU is loaded at DE and has some excellent DE's coming in with the 2017 class, including the top DE in MN in most peoples eyes in Tanner Sundt, along with the best player in Wyoming who is also a DE. They obviously think the DE's they have coming in are better than Ott. We will eventually be able to see on the field. That is if NDSU is still in the MVFC by 2020.

My theory is NDSU pushed for UND to get into the MVFC because the Summit really needed a 10th team and UND wouldn't/couldn't go without the MVFC invite. NDSU has no intention of being in the MVFC in 2020. They will announce either a new stadium or they will expand seating at the Fargodome by enclosing the corners to make it a bowl, increasing capacity to 26,000 to 30,000 to make an FBS move to the MWC in football only.

You are a dreamer with this post.  The fargo dome isn't expandable.  Just ask some real engineers, it'd cost more than building new.  As to the money part,  the facility is owned by the city and they are maxed out on taxes and have flood protection expenditures staring them in the face.  The state won't pay for it.  There would be a need to raise at least another 10 million per year to go fbs and I doubt it is doable.  The MWC and sunbelt or any g5 doesn't generate enough media revenue to offset this.  I admire your optimism though

My first job out of high school was at Target. I helped open the store in the mall. I worked there all the way through college and for more than 3 years in management after college. Retail is totally different from the summer of 1978. But I don't think it will completely go away real soon. Too many people want the instant gratification of walking in a store and picking up merchandise. They also like to see and feel it in person. VR is going to have to keep improving to replace the sensations of feeling the fabric in a shirt or seeing the color of things in person for many people.

How much does a weaker canadian loony figure in to the pain at columbia?  5 years or so ago we were nearly par with them, not so much now.

Originally the story was going to be themed around the Cheetham brothers.  James at UND and Jerome at SU.

But after they started shooting film Rocky was too entertaining to not make the story based on him, with his counter part being coach Thomas.  (This is straight from RT)

    I easily believe this

If London Fletcher could do it there's no reason Will can't.

Not saying Will couldn't, just saying they wont try him there because of height and reach.  Zach Thomas was short for that spot too and he was quite good but he lucked out in having coaches that decided to use him at his natural position and he didn't disappoint.  In todays NFL his best hope to make a roster is at FB.  God I hope he sticks at KC

No idea. I'd assume FB but still think he's an LB diamond in the rough.

Not enough reach for an NFL LB appears to be the conclusion of the organizations that tried him out.  How is his recieving skills?

So what happens first next week.  EWU gets to 30 or Pelini explodes on the sidelines?

The wildcard here is the officiating crew.  If there s a close call or two going against the penguiins in the mix I'd say Peleni by a length or two

Richmond was one yard short on the third down before the punt penalty...if Richmond gained one more yard on that play and got the first down...did that one yard give Richmond the win? And enough momentum?

The kicking penalty was 5 yards and Richmond had to go 77 yards to score. Even after that score UND still had a ten point lead. The inability of UND to regain momentum on offense or defense after that by not staying sharp cost and essentially coasting helped cost them the game.

This is an accurate analysis.  Good teams overcome those brain farts.  Whats really got me pissed is we are that good team but we don't deliver today when it really counts.  We could have won the conference alone next week.  What's the point of becoming a dominant team in a power conference if your going to lay an egg against an eastern team of mostly backups.  I can't figure this one out

Seriously  did Oliveira get hurt? why didn't he get the ball at all late? I just don't understand why I run first team was passing (ineffectively) with the lead.

These are my thoughts as to how this one got thrown away.

It's going to come down to our defensive backs not allowing the big plays. They aren't going to go on a 12 play 80 yard drive on us.

I think so.  Richmond can't run on us.  Studs often plays better in the second half and we've yet to hear from Santiago but we will.  We've got this one

Taryn Christion just down the road in Brookings is near the top of that list as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in agreement on Christain and he;s probably better than Studsrud but Studs has been a top 10 QB these last games.
