MNsiouxFAN
I was just wondering how many UND students would be willing to ride in a UND Student Government Funded van from forks to columbus. This would be free of cost for transportation and we would be taking a 15 passenger van. I am a student senator and was thinking of writing a bill for this funding. So if you are a UND student or know any UND student that would want to ride on this bus to columbus please reply to this post so i can get a good number of how many people would be going. Thanks Derek Dahlen Student Senator
~hockey~
My roommate and I might be interested. Do you have any other info, when you would leave, other expenses (hotel, tickets, etc.)?
Fedorov
You need to take a bus, not a van. I'm sure there are more than 15 people that want to go.
Diggler
I think a bus might be too expensive to rent and still allow it to be free to students.
Fedorov
I think a bus might be too expensive to rent and still allow it to be free to students. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Charge $20 and let them drink on it and make it a party bus.
darksenay
Yeah guys, i must remind you this would be paid for with student fees and would only cover travel If student fees are used, no alcohol could be drank on the tripm once you get off the van, then certainly you could drink. Diggler
What if you added a luggage rack or some other sort of extension to the van? Could you drink on the luggage rack? Or how about just driving a giant keg?
Fedorov
If you can't drink on the way there, you need to make the trip fast. Why not use aviation students to fly people to Columbus?
darksenay
but seriously how many people would ride on ther van to columbus fully funded by stu gov??
redwing77
UND owns a mite more than just a 15 person van. They do own at least 2 full size coaches. Assuming all of UND's sports teams are at home, the hockey team is flying, and a driver is available, that would increase the potential riders to around 49 or so per bus. Student fees wouldn't be able to cover this entirely, so the students would be responsible for whatever remains after the initial sum. However, the other "wrench" in the works involves the driver. Though students wouldn't be responsible to chip in for fuel (same as the van), they would be responsible to pay the driver. This can included even meals and lodging for the entire trip. I admit that I only looked into the UND coach in an estimate capacity, not as seriously as it could have helped. The nice thing about 15 person vans is that your friendly student senator can drive the vehicle, which saves a ton of money.
Sweeny
You guys should have got the word out on this a bit sooner. I would have been interested probably had I known last weekend, but I have already got my hookups set up now. I would expect this will be the case for most other students who are heading down there also. Goodluck though
Fedorov
Brandt can drive the bus.
NorthDakotaHockey
Brandt can drive the bus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really thought that Jake would be driving the Bus, to Columbus. Better not let one of those student leaders at the wheel. Just look at the job they're doing behind the wheel of Big Campus Guv'mint. Hope y'all get a bus together to Columbus. Jake'll be there. He's one of the pieces of the heart and soul.

Also the baseball team is heading out to Crookston on the 6th and Augusta on the 8th... Also softball is going to Minnesota state on the 6ht and Augusta on the 8th.. Golf and tennis also have events out of town during the time you would need the bus. Not putting a damper on it or anything but seems like a 15 person van is a good bet. You should arange an official sign up for it and advertise it on campus, also make sure ppl can still get the student package from the ralph... I'm sure there would be interest for 15 ppl out of 13,

ESPNInsider
One question: Why would the student government pay for this? Aren't there better things to be spending money on? Kind of reminds me of the NDSU student government taking tickets to the football games.

ESPNInsider
Seriously though, why would the st. gov. pay for 15 students to go to Col.? Doesn't seem like that would ever pass to me. Don't think the other thousands of students would be very pleased!
