The Sicatoka
From the last paragraph of http://www.uscho.com/news/2005/01/11_009596.php In other action, the Board of Directors requested that NCAA staff draft legislation for the Board's consideration in April that would modify or eliminate the 15,000 average attendance requirement for Division I-A membership. The Board asked for recommendations that support and enhance Division I-AA membership as well. If they eliminate the 15000 rule, wouldn't that entice even more schools to leave DI-AA for DI-A? Didn't they just institute the 15000 rule back in August?
Poncho & Lefty
couldn't agree with you more, I don't see how this will help D1-AA maintain teams, it will basically become a feeder system for D1-A. The last thing D1-A needs is more schools worthy of only the Sun Belt Conference. It'll be interesting to see how this all works out.
