ethanm
The team plays in the NHL-size rink. The Olympic rink was built so the Sioux could practice on that being there are a few teams in the WCHA with Olympic-sized (or close to it) rinks. The Olympic rink seats a several hundred, I believe. The women's team has played a few games in the Olympic rink in the past, but they now play all their games on the main/NHL-size rink. The Sicatoka
I keep seeing people talk about the main arena and the olympic rink. Which one does the hockey team play in ? Thanks. REA is now really a three facility complex: The Ralph - 11406 seats, 200x85 ice, primarily for hockey, can hold over 13000 for basketball The Olympic Arena - maybe 1000 seats, 200x100 Olympic-sized ice, primarily for hockey practices (when going on road to play on ice that size) and some womens games The Betty - about 4000 seats, basketball and volleyball
JESUS,family, rutgers
You mean North Dakota has a different size practice rink for games against teams with larger rinks---very cool. Do many other colleges have this type of facility with two rinks? Thanks.
ethanm
The University of Minnesota has both NHL and Olympic. The men's team plays in Mariucci Arena (Olympic) and the women's team plays in Ridder Arena (NHL).
