Fighting Sioux #1
If you are on the Waiting List like me.....you are screwed this year!! I was told in an e-mail from Mark Rudolph, "At this point we are not going to get to any of the waiting list members for this season because of full capacity." When I asked if ALL Season Ticket Holders renewed their tickets....he said "NO". Somebody explain what the hell is going on........and what they are doing with the tickets that open up?!??!? He also said they are trying to implement the new "Preference Point System" for this year.......are all the tickets going to people who have the $$cash$$ to bypass the Waiting List?? The Sicatoka
'Bypass' with cash? No. Move up the list by "adding points"? Probably. Preference points: http://www.undalumni.org/fsc-priority-points.htm I have tickets and wanted to get a couple more. I'm sure there are other folks like me out there also. I'm not able to get them either. Maybe they should have built the arena the size of the one in Tampa.
Fighting Sioux #1
What makes it even worse is.....last year I received an e-mail from a lady at the Ticket Office saying they should get to for season tickets (for last season)....and I ended up not even cracking the Top 50 on the List. The more $$$ you give, the more Preference Points you get. The Preference Points you have, the faster you move up on the list!! Hmmmmmmmmmmm......... airmail
When I asked if ALL Season Ticket Holders renewed their tickets....he said "NO". Somebody explain what the hell is going on........and what they are doing with the tickets that open up?!??!? This is my guess... not a bonafide fact, so bear with me. There are people in the emerald club & up who are entitled to 8 seats. There are those in the coaches club who are entitled to 4 seats. I would guess that in the past season, there were those who had already joined the FSC at these levels, but due to a "full house" were unable to aquire their allotted number of seats. So... when more seats opened up, they got first shot at them. This is kind of explained in the letter from Mark Rudolph that cfm567b27 posted. ...will be held by Fighting Sioux Club members
The Sicatoka
The Preference Points you have, the faster you move up on the list!! Yup. You said "cash" as if you meant some sort of underhanded dealing were going on. Nope. They have a system and have it posted. I'd suspect that airmail's hypothesis isn't off by much. I'd suspect that airmail's hypothesis isn't off by much. Yes you are most likely correct Airmail. There were two single seats in our row last year that were never sold as season tickets. They were sold on an individual game by game basis (we were able to buy these a couple of different weekends as extra seats). I'm guessing here - but if you are willing to purchase just a single seat season ticket I bet you might be able to come across one. Not many buy just a single seat outside of students. I would at least ask the question if you are wanting season tickets.
siouxjoy
Another thing I had heard is that suiteholders are also given seats in the lower bowl as part of their agreement. The Ralph didn't allot enough seats for the suiteholders when they sold the regular season tickets, so they ended up having to figure out ways to get those seats back, which meant that the people on the waiting list wait even longer. Any seats that became open were given to the suiteholders, and then passed on the line to the FSC diamond, emerald, directors, etc.
WPoS
Welcome to the big time...we've had this type of situation for 10 years now... WPoS

As much as we (I?) bitch about the ticket situation I still think we have it pretty good comparatively speaking. Now if we could only close the distance gap between Minneapolis and Grand Forks that would be desireable. Good reason to buy an aircraft though

Good reason to buy an aircraft though Too bad the former Governor is no longer in St. Paul. You might have been able to convince him of the need for a high-speed light rail line from the Twin Cities to Whitey's* in East Grand Forks. ;) * Ride the shuttle bus to the game from there. With a 200 knot aircraft I can make it in 1 1/2 hours from Flying Cloud. That would be right at my comfort level. Heck I might even offer Tim a lift being that we won't EVER see high speed rail in these parts.
