John W. Posted May 24, 2018 Share Posted May 24, 2018 The NFL tried to address the 'National Anthem' issue but did not....they created too much 'wiggle room' and left much open to interpretation... Maybe the solution is to eliminate that tradition....after all ...it has NOT always been the norm....playing of the anthem originated around the time of WW I to show support and was not universally installed, even then...I, as a veteran, take offenses at the anthem played at UND sports venues with the ending, considered 'cute' by some, as bring disrespectful to our 'brave' veterans who served...I've attended sports events in many states and not heard the anthem varied as at UND events....
