UNDBIZ Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/275739/ Grand Forks is making its TV debut today — in Japan. “Miss Pilot,” a weekly drama partly filmed on the UND campus and other parts of the city, will air at 9 p.m. JST on Fuji TV in Japan. It’ll also be accessible online to those outside of Japan. For the university, the show will provide unmatched publicity in Japan. UND’s name and logo are clearly visible on more than one location just on a promotional video on YouTube. Dodds said the show also will shine a positive light on UND and Grand Forks in general. He said the series will reach an estimated 20 million people, some of whom he hopes will be encouraged to look into UND for aviation education. Scenes for three Miss Pilot episodes were filmed at the terminal at Grand Forks International Airport, UND’s flight line at the airport, Ralph Engelstad Arena, UND Aerospace buildings, a fraternity house, the Toasted Frog restaurant downtown and the CanadInn, the university said. Cratter Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Be fun to watch online. Supposedly the two lead actresses are pretty popular in Japan with their faces plastered on billboards and ads. They say they are equivilant to jennifer Anniston and Cameron Diaz here. Quote
