redwing77
Ok, I'm taping it off of Fox Sports Net. I am trying (though somewhat unsuccessfully) to eliminate the commercials. I don't have any means to edit the tape but I am willing to send the copy to whoever needs it provided I'm compensated for shipping and I eventually get the tape back. CoteauRinkRat
Was Parise given an assist on the third goal for the US?
redwing77
Was Parise given an assist on the third goal for the US? They never said during the broadcast but all indications say that he did. Stafford also got an assist on the second goal.
schmidtdoggydog
Was Parise given an assist on the third goal for the US? Despite the fact that he clearly should have from the replays I saw, he was not awarded an assist.
CoteauRinkRat
I didn't think he was, but the game I watched showed that he clearly deserved an assist.
PCM
I didn't think he was, but the game I watched showed that he clearly deserved an assist. I agree. How does Parise not get an assist on that play? He set the whole thing up.
sprig
I agree. How does Parise not get an assist on that play? He set the whole thing up. Seems that the international tourneys often give just one assist, although there are enough examples of two assists at this tourney. Have to believe that had that not been the last game of the tournament, it would have been changed. It is, however, as obvious as any second assist that I saw given in any other game. BTW, did anyone note where Stafford got his assist on the Eaves to O'Sullivan pass? Stafford went to the net drawing both dmen leaving that cross ice pass wide open, but I don't believe he touched the puck, unless he made the initial pass to Eaves somewhere back in neutral ice? Stafford passed to Eaves, I believe, in his own zone and then simply rushed the net afterwards. At least that's how I think it went. Stafford got it going, Eaves set it up, and O'Sullivan put it in the twine. Stafford's assist vs. Parises non-assist: Parise's non-assist was more obviously an assist. CoteauRinkRat
Parise had a goal changed from him to Murray and should have been credited for an assist on the third goal. His honesty and lack of complaining show how much class this kid really does have.
