Sioux-cia Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I don't see how this could have happened if he had been wearing a helmet. I wish ill will on many WCHA ref's but never death or maiming. I feel bad for his family and friends and especially for the kid whose puck accidently hit him. http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/Hockey-...0310/?gt1=39002 Quote
xI Hammer Ix Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 That's aweful to hear. It does seem fairly odd, I'm almost certain he'd have a helmet on. Seeing as how the puck was "lobbed" it had to have been from hitting the ice. Who knows though? Sometimes it doesn't take much, all it has to do is hit the right spot. Quote
Vegas_Sioux Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 It's the exact reason why USA Hockey and Hockey Canada Require coaches to wear helmets at practice. This isn't the first instance where a non player has been killed or severely injured well participating in a hockey event. Quote
