star2city Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Sioux vs Loyola Marymount The Loyola Marymount Lions and the North Dakota Fighting Sioux will collide on the hardwood for the first-time ever when the two schools take the floor at Dahlberg Arena in the Grizzly Basketball Classic. The Fighting Sioux did not put up much of a fight in their opener, as they were embarrassed by Montana, 61-37. It was a tough opener for North Dakota, which began this year with such promise after grabbing 16 victories a season ago. As for the Lions, they were tamed by Boise State, 90-87. Although it was a setback for LMU, the play on the court can give Lions' fans plenty to be excited about early in the season, especially since the team is coming off a nightmare 3-28 campaign. Quote
the green team Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Hey Star, Do you know who wrote that story?-- is it even a credible news organization?--- Now granted some of it may be true, but it might be a little harsh for a game recap story after game 1. We were only trailing by 4 with 11 to go and yes it got away from us, but it makes it sound as if we didn't play with them at all. Quote

Agree that it's rather bad journalism, especially for call out certain players, more like a blog. But the same story was in USA Today Quote

the green team Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 It sounded like RFr. Spencer Goodman is starting to come on a little bit. Hey, I'm trying to look for a bright spot for a change. Quote

Loyola Marymount's top three players are now sophomores, including an WCC all-star. Practically the whole team is sophomore or younger. (But, guess that's true for UND too. ) A lot of patience will be needed: hope Wilmer can start playing soon. The Sioux need an inside presence. Quote
