choyt3 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Leach has been fired. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls09/news/story?id=4781981 Would think he'll get a job at a BCS school in a heck of a hurry. TT saves $800,000 by firing him today and tomorrow. After hearing of/seeing some of the emails from his coaching staff, the James family has blown what happened way out of proportion. A good number of players came forward in support of Leach as well. Seems that TT admin has been looking for a reason to get rid of him for a while, which makes one wonder why there was a HUGE contract extension brought to Leach just last year. TT will not be better for this. Quote

TT will not be better for this. Most of Mangino's former players came out for him too, but it was well-known that Mangino was a first-class a**. Not saying that Leach is at that level, but he was a very difficult person to reason with. Knight and Leach were kind of cut from the same cloth: but the TTU AD wanted that type leadership. Leach got himself into trouble when after the contract extension, as he talked with Washington without an O.K. from the TTU admin. BC fired their coach for that. All that said, can't imagine the James WR staying at TTU. Maybe transfers to SMU? Quote
Shawn-O Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 There's some interesting reading on this over at Double-T Nation, to say the least. Actually good to read every angle of the story, except for the truth perhaps. Quote
