  1. I actually "downgraded" last year - by that I mean I exchanged my row 2 seats for row 8 in club section 26. Although this may have been considered an upgrade as row 8 are the rail seats and are pretty popular from my understanding. Filling out the form with specifics of what your looking for helps - but I also called the ticket office two years in a row to express my wishes. Two years ago - I ended up speaking with the manager of the office and she was not much help. Last year, I got simply some representative and she took the time to help me and I ended up getting my first choice. Perhaps something else had changed i.e. the person who had the seats I wanted did not renew for some reason or maybe I caught the manager at a bad time and the rep at a good one - but I have to believe that if one takes the time to call, the ticket office will take the time to help you with your requests.

  2. Looking at the Sagarin rankings here's the projected outcome of the game...

    26th: Minnesota 6-1 (79.94)

    137th: North Dakota State 3-3 (55.51)

If played at our home again, the spread would be about 28 points.

I agree NDSU caught us at their best time in recent history and the worst in possibly the entire Gopher history. It would be a slaughter.

why don't you take this goofey conversation elsewhere

congrats on the "bowl eligible" but who here gives a damn (lord knows only half the teams make it)

find a metropolitan minnesota goph football thread on site and knock yourself out

  3. How has anyone jumped off the bus by criticizing a team that went 0-2 to start the season, including a loss to a bottom feeding UMass team that UND should have been motivated to destroy after the poor showing Friday? You must be a Bush supporter if your standards are that low.

wow - is Bush running for president again?

a better personal shot would be to be a supporter of the socialist controlled Congress

  4. Received my reorder form in the mail yesterday. Seems early this year - perhaps not though.

Fun tourney and hope all of you can be there.

Also - tickets for the regionals at the John are now available on Gophersports.com. I hate looking at that site - but have to in instances like this.

  5. I for one am sick and tired of the Twins being satisfied with being just good enough to stay in contention but not good enough to make any serious noise in the playoffs. This small market little engine that could nonsense has to stop. It's time to step up and make a couple of key acquisitions to put this team over the top. If they had only gone out and signed a decent relief pitcher to replace Pat Neshek by midseason, they wouldn't have had so many leads blown in the 7th and 8th innings down the stretch and would not have needed to play that game last night. They would have ended the season at least five games up and we'd be talking about going into Tampa and taking care of the Devil Rays.

big money key acquisitions like the Vikings did?

  6. This one is GOOD and strong right now, looks like Football to me :)

    FREQ. 11989

yep got that now - plus a woman's BB game from Detroit

looks like I'm locked and will load on Sunday

  7. I am up to 71% quality down here in Texas after messing with it some more. It will be interesting come the Manitoba game. I am sure there will be some fine tuning that needs to be done.

Can't say enough about Pete and Sprig. Thanks again for all your help!

I got FoxNews NYSNB with some very pretty blonde waiting to do a remote

    is this the wrong satellite?

  8. Ahhh come on Goon...why are you so thin skinned?? That is fine that you are a hunter but you are all in a tizzy over this...Let me guess...you are voting for Bob Barr for president?

    whats wrong with Bob Barr?

  9. I know this has been stated before in this post. The Kohl Center and The Ralph are probably the two biggest arenas in college hockey for seating so it shouldn't be a surprise. Minnesota's arena holds 10,000 people which is 1,406 less than The Ralph and 5,000+ less then the Kohl Center. So common logic should hold that they have higher attendance numbers than most. One thing that I wonder, since I've never ventured to the Kohl Center is do they sell tickets for all those seats for hockey games. I've been to watch some of the women's games at The Ralph and they only sell for the lower bowl I believe, I don't pay that close attention cause I mainly get in and go sit down low towards the glass.

I'm not trying to diminish what the Sioux did for attendance. But look at comparative sizes of arenas around the league and D-I Hockey.

Still a great accomplishment by The Ralph in being tops in attendance.

also - lest we forget that the uchi way over sells their standing room only tickets. You used to be able to buy the place to stand - they are still numbered. But they quit that a few years ago when they decided that they could sell 900 of these when there are only 400 spaces to stand -- these numbers are my own and are probably not accurate - but the concept is

of course this only happens when the sioux and badger fans are in town though

  10. There's actually some truth to that. We have four professional sports teams and a Big Ten school all in the same city. The fan base gets spread around as opposed to cities like Green Bay or Grand Forks where there is one team who clearly is the top dog.

And there was no "lack of vision" when building the new Mariucci. It's a perfect hockey arena with the best sightlines of any arena I've ever been in. I'm glad it's the size it is.

wow - no wonder there are 2.8 million metropolitan minny residents

but then again - this may have something to do with it

there- I'm not the only one that believes this

  11. Televising more away games would increase awareness and interest in the program, which would more than likely result in higher attendance at home games. Actually, televising more games period (regardless if they're home or away) would be good for generating more interest in the program.

    comeon guys

you market things to make money so it would not be a good marketing expense if it loses money

also - how can you get any higher home attendance than every game being a sell-out exept for the one Sunday afternoon game against the beavers - if I remember correctly

I - for selfish reason only (like most I imagine) would like to see more games - but I then again - I go to about 6-8 away games anyway being a metropolitan minny resident

thought - perhaps they could increase the cost of advertising for the away games as the veiwership would be 11,500 higher than the home games.

  12. Hunting would be more of a sport if the animals had the ability to shoot back at the hunters.

you sound like that goofy ex-gov. that the great people of Minny elected a few years ago with 37% of the popular vote

"you haven't hunted until you've hunted man"
