A friend and I are going to our first Final Five this year. We purchased our tickets yesterday but are having a hard time finding a decent hotel within walking distance of the arena. Does everyone who's going already have a room booked or do some of you wait until the Final Five teams are 'finalized' and hope that fans of other teams cancel their reservations? Also, should we have to stay farther away, does anyone know if there are shuttles or buses running to and from the arena from area hotels? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Metro Transit buses work well - but then again I'm alittle biased as I work there. I know some folks from GF that stay in one of the hotels by the MOA and catch the route 54 to the X. Seems to work OK for them.

well - I for one will be dissapointed as it is always enjoyable to see them beat in front of all their fans on their hometown ice

I have always thought it makes it more fun when the gophers are there too because of attendance, but I have had enough of them and their fans around us the past few years.
It would be fun without them there for once and have more tickets available to others.
No gophers this year is fine with me!
the minny fans will be there even if the NY Yankees of NCAA hockey aren't as they are the best fans in the world - just ask them - they simply enjoy "good hockey"

if they are top 14 or win the final they will, if not then its golfing time. if they lose tonight they could sink even further down vs a fiesty uaa team
with this system the get the gophers in the tourney theory wont work
so they will put the sioux there knowing grand forks and surrounding areaa will shut dow for the weekend and pack the X where was sconny ranked last year?

if the tournament started today the gophers would not be in it, the projection has minn-duluth not minn.

If I may - I imagine that many teams have the university of minny mystery as their #1 rival as well though - everybody loves to hate the "New York Yankees of NCAA hockey" due to all the advantages they have but refuse to acknowledge of course.

I thought it was a Burn on Kangas & the goofs that he got pulled - My daughter from Fargo who was at the Friday game pointed out to me - "Can you imagine how wore out Kangas was after two periods" - He played a whole game in the 1st
what was funny is that this was "kangas" weekend on the frankie and woog show. Both nights they ran game and interview clips of him before the game and between periods - and both nights he got lit up so bad he was pulled - ironic eh.

I've always been partial to Patrick Ruesse's label of the gophs being the "New York Yankees of NCAA Hockey" as they have all the advantages and because of that - they are the team that everybody outside of metropolitan minny loves to hate.

$20 million each was spent - if I had $20,000,000 - I could be senator. Dayton bought the seat for only $9 million 6 years ago by scaring seniors. Seems cheap this year.

So people that are against illegal drug use/possession are D-bags? Maybe instead of teaching children that those that criticize drug use are idiots, maybe you should teach children that THOSE USING THE DRUGS ARE IDIOTS! Puff Puff deserves the opportunity to get help. He doesn't deserve sympathy. Personally, it seems that ranting against illegal drug possession/use is a social productive activity since any "idiot" knows how drug use can rip apart families/communities.

I admit that it is hard for me to feel bad for Puffy, with all of his negativity and snide comments towards the Sioux and the State of ND in general...but he is still a human being.

Puffy is done. Why would KFAN ever want him back? He is a poor analyst, he has already embarrassed himself at least once with his run in with the officials, and he will be forever ridiculed, especially if he is exonerated, by the fan base. He is of zero value to KFAN. His contract likely has a "good boy" clause and he has clearly not been a good boy. Driving on a suspended license? I actually like the guy, because he is a bit of a putz, just like me. This said, anyone who thinks that KFAN will want him back is sadly mistaken. Not to worry, there will be plenty more homer boys in line to take his job and to dish you your Kool Aid.
well, perhaps in most areas of the country - but here in metropolitan minnesota (not unlike the elite northeast and the left coast) his stock will rise amongst these socialists.
