  1. I bet the team will actually score more per game next year. I have noticed them developing a fast break that is starting to show signs. With Evers gone I could see them becoming more of a running team. There's certainly plenty of speed all the way down the bench. I saw Klabo play again last night and can tell you she would fit in well in a running style as well. She takes point guard duties on most fast breaks.
  2. We do seem like a pathetic road team right now, but there was a time this season when we were a great one. We still have the same team, we can still win anywhere. Good call. I agree leadership is key for us.
  3. Big Sky's best player is coming in here to put on a show today. Hope the coaches have some ideas.
  4. To me that doesn't make sense as punishment. Loyd still played 41 minutes. It's punishment on the surface only.
  5. I hope Sawatzke can develop her jumpshot, because with quickness like that she should find herself open a lot. Defenders will struggle to keep up, especially in a man to man defense. Right now she looks like the freshest set of legs on the team.
  6. Pretty sure we back-pedalled our way into the BST today thanks to what happened in other games. Even so, it's hard to muster any optimism for the postseason given our complete lack of intensity right now. It's ideal to peak this time of the year, and we are doing the opposite. You have to go back 2 years since this team has been this flat. All these turnovers are taking me back....
  7. The ladies are flat-footed right now. There is no fire in the belly. We are a turnover machine lately.
  8. The worst call of the game was when Banks lowered the shoulder and ran through Loyd, who was perfectly set. One of the worst ghost calls i have seen this season.
  9. Never heard the home team announcers acknowledge bad calls against the visitors as much as i did tonight. When that happens you KNOW it's bad. But give NAU some credit, they were ready for our aggressive drives to the basket and took quite a few charges.
  10. Sac. St. is always an adventure, win or lose. They are basically a team of 3-point shooting track stars. That footspeed is a bad matchup for us, and they ran around and past our defenders all day. Would have liked to see Klapprodt on the court some as I doubt anyone could beat her with footspeed. Last year was fun, but it will never be that easy for us again in the Big Sky. When you are the new team in a conference and also have a rookie coach the other teams are somewhat at a loss in strategizing against you. But that advantage disappears in the offseason filmrooms. Teams have adjusted, which calls for re-adjustment by us. Our chances of hosting the BST fell to 0% yesterday but the idea of missing the tournament altogether is still statistically alive. Time to get it done on the road.
  11. Once the UND strength and conditioning gets a hold of Klabo the sky is the limit for her. I do see her as eventually more of a forward than pure center, creating matchup nightmares for opponents. Also, landing Jacobson from Shanley would of course be nice, but is extremely doubtful given that UND just grabbed a very promising point guard from the gophers. So Jacobson would most likely find herself competing for playing time all 4 years here. My bet is that she picks a program that needs her more than we do.
  12. Predictions for tonight's game? Winning at Montana with the conference up for grabs is the next test in Brewster's line of progress. I think if our halfcourt D gets humming like it has been lately we will have a good chance. Knox and Burke to step it up. Dyer to cut the jugular at the end (like the NDSU game).
