  1. You fans are being too hard on your team . You will do ok in the Big Sky this season. I know that some of you , actually most of you are not aware that the Spartans are loaded with three star players and a number of borderline four star players. Our WR's are very good as you will see as the season goes along if you check future Spartan game stats. That goes for our RB's, LB's, DB's , etc. We will surprise some teams and sports writers this year. I know that some of you hate to give much credit to your opponents play. Just don't be too critical of your coaches or your team as a whole. Besides you are not expected to go out and defeat BCS teams. Your team and coaches as well as ours learned a lot from this game and we'll only get better. We got to play our third team which is important for having better depth. And your team wasn't shut out ! And no serious injuries for either of us !! Don't be concerned because you will see very good improvement in your next game. Good luck the rest of the !
  2. It quite obvious that you have never played football. You have no clue what real talent looks like.
  3. Most of the sports writers did not do their research on the Spartans. We have 17 players who started a number of games last season. We are loaded with WR's. DB's. Both "O" and "D" linemen, RB's. and very fast LB's. The starting QB is a 5th year Senior who just barely got beat out by Fales. He has seen lots of action since he was a Soph. He's big and likes to run. Should be an interesting game. Hopefully, no injuries for either team. PS...Watch for # 15 , Tyler Winston , WR. Tyler was a Fr. All America last year. A speed burner at 6' 2", 191 lbs. The Spartans are a very fast team overall.
  4. See www.247sports.com/ . They report him as a UND solid commit. They have his film. Nice pick up.
  5. This will be the second season for our current coaching staff. They had a very good recruiting class for 2014. We think that several of the recruits have a chance of playing this year. One of our two JC's that signed is a three star "DE. Victor Vernon. At 6ft, 3", 270 lbs, he was rated as one of the strongest in the country. Victor was recruited by a large number of big time programs. Watch for him. Number 97. The large majority of fans are very happy with this coaching staffs abilities to coach and recruit.
  6. Most SJ fans agree that Joe Gray will be the starter. Joe was a three star QB out of high school and originally committed to U Most Spartan fans agree that Joe Gray will start. Joe was a 3 star out of high school who committed to U of Washington. He made an official visit to them and changed his mind after finding out that the Huskies had commits from a couple of other QB's. The other negative for this California kid was the weather. We had been recruiting hard. That and his like for our coaches convinced him to sign with the Spartans. Joe red shirted his Fr year. He was our outstanding Scout Team QB the next two years. He's a Junior this season. He has a stronger arm than Fales and like Fales. he is very accurate. Fast also and will run when on You. Remains to be seen of course just how good of a starter he'll be. A lot will depend on how good our "O" line will be. Most think they definitely have the talent , speed and strength to be outstanding. Our "D" could be the strength of the team. Line Backers and "DE" may turn out to be the best in our league. All in all, fans and coaches feel that we have a good chance at a good bowl game this season. We look forward to playing your team and hope that neither program has any serious injuries. We have heard that UND has a good chance of being very tough. Sounds like you have some outstanding talent. We are not taking you lightly. Sparta hopes that those of you who are making the trip will enjoy San Jose and the Bay Area as a whole. At the game please stop by some of the tail gaiter's for a friendly visit and who knows, maybe a beer or two. Also take a look at the weight room building which next to the stadium. Good luck this season. May you win all of your games. Except one of course.
  7. If you have any interest in seeing what kind of recruits have given commits to SJSU go to / www.247sports.com/. This is the best recruiting site for college football. Lots of info and accurate rating.. So far the Spartans have 15 commits. Of these 13 are rated three stars and two are two stars.
