  1. But it's not the top level as some try and suggest. You could have made that argument in the early 2000s but not anymore. College hockey is nowhere near as chocked full of high end talent as it once was.

    What?

  2. Don't you get it, you rip NDSU for being in the FCS you are also ripping UND for being in the same class. If you are a fan of UND athletics (including football) you would refrain from making asinine remarks.

o Good Lord C'mon! The only reason I am saying this is because of all the NDSU rubes pontificating that they can compete with Alabama, Ohio State, etc. And that is not from Bisonville. It is from people i have talked to and believe me they are DEAD serious! Some thin skin on this board.

  3. JV Championships? In case you missed the memo, UND plays for those so-called "JV Championships" you speak of. You make yourself sound dumber than Dan.

This is good. Really good. We get a troll on here with many, many other bison jock sniffers, ripping UND athletics and every chance they get, and you are defending him? i know your intentions are good, but you're sure you're not drinking the kool-aid too?

  4. I'll put the debate on whether or not these kids had the right to hold up that sign or not aside for a second.  What were these kids protesting?  Kelly's involvement in the retirement of the Fighting Sioux nickname?  First of all, the settlement was signed before Kelley even took office.  So To think Kelley is the one that somehoe worked with the NCAA to get rid of the name is wimply wrong.  Second, the two involved were a freshman and a sophomore.  So that means that they were still in elelmentary school when all this went down initially.  Now Of course they are college kids and could have dome some research of what has happened in the last 10 years regarding the Fighting Sioux name in that time.  It is well documented.  Obviously they didn't.  Now you can be upset with how Kelley is handling the issue, that's fine.  But to me these kids are upset about the retirement of the name.  Blaming Kelley for the initial ritrement of the name is idiotic because he was not even here when it all went down.

Now of course these kids could have been protesting the cancellation of Springfest, well then that'sa different thing.  And outside the student population, you won't gain much support there.

Oh please. Kelley wanted that nickname out as bad as the other 12 people in the state. Furthermore, you are correct, the deal was signed with the Lakota Sioux....back in the 50's.

  5. I just love all these bisssson fans trolling the UND website. Infatuation does not suit you well folks. Kinda like a government employee.....they get in a job role where they think and talk big, try to measure there "you know whats" with the The Fighting Sioux folks and the bissson fans always come up short.

  6. Sat behind the SC bench last night. A couple things about this game. The Oliver kid is nothing but a whiner....every damn call, the period breaks, after penalties. I'm not sure how much control Motzko has of his team. At one point, Motzko was moving the big monster kid they have to a different part of the bench in an effort to apparently send him out on the next shift when little number #16 on the team next to him said "no" and sent him back to where he was previously on the bench and Motzko just stood there and took it in disbelief. Also, there was a guy in front of us who was completely polluted and was riding the SC players for the first two periods until he got the boot. He was irritating as hell, even for me, and i think it worked a little as Oliver complained after the period break about him.....which i cant blame him for. All in all it was electric in the Ralph last night.

  7. So Vandy would "work over" Nebraska but quite possibly lose to the Huskers. Compelling argument you're making...

If Northwestern is so awful, how over-rated is Notre Dame?

Very, very, very over-rated. Notre Dame BARELY beat Navy. Which shows how over-rated Florida State is too. Winston the thug shouldn't even be allowed to play college football.

  8. That's not what you said at all. Your exact words were that Vandy would "work over" Nebraska. Go re-read your post.

You are correct. I did say that they would work them over, maybe not win but would give them a hell of run.....that is how bad Nebraska is. Biggest mistake they ever made was move to the Big 10. You know the Big 10 conference is bad when Minnesota and Northwestern are favored in inter-conference games. I can't even believe this is a thread. The Big 10 is an entire 4-year recruiting class maybe even 2 classes behind the SEC.

  9. Vandy would work over Nebraska? You have lost your marbles.

Not saying they would win but Nebraska is beyond God-Awful.......Good Lord they lost to the gerbils last year! Melvin Gordon put 408 on them and he didn't even play the 4th quarter! Minnesota is favored to beat them this weekend!

  10. Mississippi St. currently ranked 4th. What exactly about their schedule makes them a top 4 team over the likes of TCU, Baylor, or Ohio State? Their out-of-conference schedule is a joke and looking at their schedule they have two teams in the current top 25 they've played. Beat one, lost to another.

    Why are they ranked 4th?

Ummmmm..........let me see.....because at the time they beat #8LSU, #6 A&M, and #2 Auburn and should have beat #5 Alabama if they would have controlled the clock better.

  11. I'm only a hater because they are given an inordinate amount of attention. That inordinate amount of attention is a result of a major contract between the SEC and ESPN.

Year in and year out Notre Dame seems to get ranked pretty highly midway through the season, then they tank and so does their ranking. Why do they get ranked high to begin with? Media exposure. Same thing, just on a conference level with the SEC.

Wait a minute.....the Big 10 has its own network....plus they are on ABC and ESPN and ESPN2 as much or more than the SEC.

  12. I didn't say that at all, but let's be reasonable here.  The SEC certainly has its share of patsies and mediocre teams this season:

Vanderbilt...Kentucky...South Carolina...Florida...Tennessee...some folks want to claim that those schools would work over Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Nebraska?  C'mon.

The only patsie in the SEC is Vandy, and that is somewhat of a stretch. For sure they would work over Nebraska, just ask Melvin Gordon. Wisconsin is clearly the best team in the big 10. I mean good lord the gerbils lost to Illinois!!! Every analyst I have watched this year has the Big 10 ranked dead last, by a wide margin, against the other 4 power conferences.

  13. It's fun to see everyone completely brainwashed by the SEC media team. They really have done their job well.

If that's how you want to twist it, sure, I'll admit I'm drinking the SEC Kool-Aid. The facts are there.

  14. I get that the common denominator is LSU. Your claim is that the "real" Florida is the one that played the Tigers tough. You're pretty optimistic that that's the team that would show up to play Wisconsin.

Indiana - again, the worst team record-wise in in-conference play in the Big 10. And they own a win over the current SEC West leader Missouri.

So let me get this straight......you take the top 7 teams in the Big 10, pit them against the SEC west, or the SEC East for that matter, and you say the Big 10 comes out on top?

  15. Big 10 football is horrible at best. There hasn't been a football national title won above the Mason Dixon line since 2003. The SEC rules, in particular the SEC west.

  16. Right, that's why the head-to-head matchups over the years are about dead even. LMAO at the over the top ignorance!

Having made that correction, we should now probably steer this thread back on topic.

There hasn't been a football national title won above the Mason Dixon line in the last 10 years.

  17. Prayers for Layla Marvin and her family as she was hit by a car yesterday and underwent surgery last night. Sounded like it could have been much worse so thankful they were non-life threatening injuries.

    It was Lisa her sister.
