  1. Just dropping by to say good game. I thought we had a chance if the coaches went with Bennett over Conklin, but I didn’t expect KB to be as unstoppable as he was. He’s been banged up this season so wasn’t sure if he was back to 100%. Also thought you guys had all the mo by going ground and pound in the 3rd quarter and totally taking over the complexion of the game. Mind boggling why you guys went away from that, it’s like there was a switch that was turned on at halftime and then off at the end of the 3rd quarter. Best of luck moving forward, I wouldn’t be so down on your squad. IMO, you guys have a talented bunch, specifically on offense, to continue to build around and be successful. I’m not going to pretend to know all the ins and outs of the MVFC but it’s apparent that you guys are competitive and seem to be just a half step behind those not named SDSU. A couple key additions here and there and you could be knocking off those top teams. BTW I feel for this guy below. That was the typical feeling/facial expression of Hornets fans pre-2019.
  2. Pretty sure that is all one can hope for in the BSC.
  3. Not sure about the "grabbed by the shoulder" part, looked like a couple players battling down low. I do think that over the back on the put back was cheap. But then again I thought there were a couple "and 1's" the refs could have called on some Hornet buckets. I've seen (and will see) much worse officiating in the BSC.
  4. Hell of a game last night. I don’t know enough about UNDs program to really understand all the doom and gloom being posted about your current team. You guys were 1 win away from the Dance last year and even being hard hit by graduation your team is young and yet looks to have the potential to be very competitive in a weak conference. I think UND will be just fine and your record largely reflects the heavy road schedule of the season (last night was only UNDs 3rd home game of the season!?!?!? ). That said both teams played some tough defense. Not many teams are able to stifle BOTH Garrity and McKinney and UND accomplished that. Good teams usually can overcome that with a solid bench and that is exactly what happened last night. Mills and Tiffin really came through and carried the Hornets until Garrity and McKinney were able to land a few shots. IMO UND lost the game on that 10 second violation with under 2 to go. Not sure what the UND player was thinking just standing in the backcourt staring at the defense but it seemed like he didn’t know what to do, or his teammates weren’t doing what they were suppose to do. That turnover allowed the Hornets to have the possession advantage late. As far as the guy claiming the refs cost UND the game…meh. There were a lot of ticky tack calls made on both sides last night and the PF and FT differential was not significant even though UND was in the double bonus with just under 4 to go in the game. Sorry for the long post, see you guys next month in The Nest.
  5. Haha. Good luck, you guys have a tough schedule ahead.
  6. We’ll see. I have no problem with the coaches swapping QB’s. Safron has looked progressively worse since our week 2 win over Colorado as can be seen from some of his poor decisions this past Saturday. I trust the coaches will start whoever they feel gives us the best shot at a win.
  7. I still think it’s a financial burden for us (not necessarily the conference as a whole) to travel to UND, especially given the CA state budget problems (another tax increase is on the ballot this Nov ). The anti-UND sentiment was never from a dislike of anything UND (at least for me), just a bad geographical fit resulting in added strain on our dwindling resources (I couldn’t care less one way or another on the naming issue you guys faced but it sounds like that battle is over). With the WAC dying and Idaho potentially falling into the BSC’s lap I think a lot of those travel issues will get minimized with split divisions for the Oly sports. We’ll see how it plays out. BTW Bradley has no connection with Hornet sports other than him trying to start up a website and make some money off of it. He ignored Hornet athletics for years while he was the head sports editor for the Sac Bee.
  8. Congrats on the win UND fans and best of luck the rest of the way. We killed ourselves with those 2 turnovers in the redzone and definitely left some points out on the field with those huge mistakes. Find a defense and you guys can make a run. Best of luck.
