  1. DaveK - With all due respect - for someone that has never played the game nor knows how to skate you seem to have a pretty rigid opinion on what should be happening on the ice. Hard to qualify your opinion on anything for those aforementioned reasons. Just my 2 cents.
  2. Wait until you upgrade to the M (yes you will someday it is a natural progression!)....Dial in the suspension - sport - and find a curvy road. You are one with the pavement. The staggered setup of 245 in back and 225 up front makes that car STICK to the road. Not a paid advertisement Now back to Sioux hockey
  3. Dude you need to spend about :30 minutes and read some of the POI posting concerning the Badgers if you think the Gopher fans don't harbor a hatred for Red. Cripes I even read something about Gopher fans making signs indicating a reference to sleeping with Wisconsin player's moms! That is a little over the top.
  4. I think anyone that is taken back by fighting in hockey (minimal in the college sport) needs to change out of those "comfortable shoes" they are most likely wearing.
  5. True - it is who won the game that counts.
  6. Will grant Wpos a pass however as he understands the superiority of German automobile engineering.
  7. Mutual respect between Minnesota and Wisconsin? You MUST BE KIDDING ME.....Take a nice long read on POI and you will get a good impression what Gopher fans think about the Badgers and vice versa.
  8. Thanks for the comments Skippy - as always your posts are such a worthwhile read.
  9. Thanks for those insightful comments. Have a nice day.
  10. This yesterday from a Boston periodical written by a BC fan...... Men's hockey team shows class after close defeat by Bob Coughlan November 01, 2004 to the editor, I just wanted to pass along some recognition of your fine hockey team at North Dakota. Sure, their trip East this week netted only a tie against Northeastern, after a loss to Boston College. However, that was secondary to the class the team showed after their game against BC. Despite a game in which they had just played their hearts out to come back from a 4 - 0 deficit to close to 4 - 3, but ultimately fall short, the team stayed on the ice as a group to recognize Coach Jerry York's accomplishment of attaining his 700th win that evening. One by one, they came over to shake his hand and congratulate him on the achievement. This is what college hockey is all about, and also showed what the University of North Dakota hockey program is all about as well. As easy as it would have been to skate off the ice after the teams shook hands given the tough loss, they showed a tremendous amount of respect to Coach York, and to the game itself. As a 27-year BC season ticket holder, I was immensely impressed with your team in this shining small gesture, yet so large a moment for them as a team of exceptional sportsmanship. Congratulations to the Fighting Sioux team and coaches. They should be proud.
  11. Whats wrong with the "F the Gophers" cheer? I thought it was a brilliant play on "Lets Go Gophers" that resonates throughout Mariucci when we play in that building. Lots of creativity in the student section - keep it up
  12. I will probably be getting that letter in the mail as I joined the "F" The Gophers chant all night long . Couldn't give a rats a$$ who behind me was offended - It isn't church.
  13. I'm alumni and one of those that "donates" money to the University annually. I happen to sit in section 107 row R which is right in front of the suites and next to the Students in Section 108. Again - I have no problem with students standing because the sight lines are bad anyway down in the near corners on the far end - you learn to train your eyes to shift to the jumbotron when the puck moves down in that end anyway. I really don't see what the deal is here. I don't think the people directly behind me in the suits are impeded when I stand. Cripes I don't think it is physically possible to stand the entire game anyway.
  14. Part of the problem is that the Sioux fans have been incredibly spoiled over the years with arguably the best program in the conference year in and year out. One thing is for certain you won't see the Minnesota fans using the "weak early season" schedule excuse this season. Arguably the Sioux have played the toughest 8 games so far this season (ahh maybe minus Mankato) of any team in the country.
  15. Crticial isn't calling for the coach to resign after 5 games - maybe that wasn't you but I did read that in an earlier post. For chirst sake - support the team in thick and thin. That means not second guessing everything they and the coaches do if it doesn't end up as a W.
  16. Just goes to show that evidently the Sioux have a few "bandwagon fans" out there.
  17. Don't you just love these Gopher fans that come to SS to post but don't post a thing on POI? They seem to come out right after a Sioux loss (or two).
  18. Hey Skippy....Lucia a linebacker? Must have been a powerhouse 7 man team! I would be intimidated by Brad Berry not Lucy Chia Pet.
  19. Blais - publicly admits wanting to pound the snot out of a radio host for comments made on the air Lucia - runs and hides behind a thinly veiled jab at "rough" play. I think Lucy was picked on as a kid and I think Blais was the type doing the picking.
  20. I just love it when Skippy (TC_Transplant) shows up.
  21. Anyone planning on attending the BC series this weekend?
  22. I think you are just fine where you are. As I mentioned before I'm in Section 107 and have no problems with students standing and/or swearing for that matter. It is a hockey game not church. Party on...
  23. Further testimony to the strength of the league and also that the Sioux never showed up Saturday night.
  24. I was thinking the exact same thing!
