I don't foresee a split. The change coming is that the G6 will implement their own playoff system and will heavily curtail the bowl games. The Big Boys don't want another JMU getting into their playoff picture.
I did find it ironic how much they complained about JMU making the playoffs, but at the same time mentioned nonstop about how Cignetti turned Indiana from dumpster to National Champions in such a short time, and occasionally would mention playmakers he brought with him from JMU to Indiana. If we had a alternate universe to see if JMU would've been more dangerous during the CFP would've been interesting.

UND currently lacks an invitation to move to FBS and isn't likely to invest $10 million for such a transition, as far as I know. While it's not wise for UND to move up to FBS immediately, as you say, the school should closely observe the actions of regional rivals like Montana, Montana State, South Dakota State, and South Dakota regarding their football programs.
FYI, prior FCS national championships don’t dictate a program's path; instead, factors like geography, politics, and funding play bigger roles.
Being optimistic about NDSU's situation simply because of its location (growing Fargo) or athletic success is not solid as the financial implications of moving up are significant.
I agree that understanding the evolving landscape of college football is essential for UND to avoid becoming stagnant. Don’t repeat prior mistakes. NDSU's decisions will impact UND, and it’s beneficial for UND to strategically plan its move within the next few years to better the outcome.
Until this year, it seems the prior 5 there have been more and more traction gaining on splitting the P4 and G6 with the G6 pulling the higher teams from FCS. Curious if that actually slowed down. You would have to think before committing $10 million that it seems that NCAA is currently shifting to staying status quo with FBS as the expanded CFP have given the opportunity to the G6.

Sounds like it's pretty much a done deal. The real question is will Sdsu or the Montana schools follow.
I'm not too sure about SDSU ability to afford to go up, entry fee alone. Sounds pretty hefty for NDSU. Montana schools I think have a higher likelihood. But unless the UM coaching change was a indication I don't think that happens this year with NDSU. For as much as it seems to be partially best available options, and willingness to spend a considerably higher entry fee then what those in recent history had to pay. Still ironic that Sac State is publicly screaming about willingness to throw money to lose, and no takers.

Awesome! I hope it’s more than just adding a couple courts
What happened to the plans from a few years back that would've put atleast a practice court on I believe the north end taking up what is now the coaches and handicap parking I believe?
Also I may have missed it as I haven't read everything in the past, but with the removal of most of the international size rinks in college hockey, has there been or has anyone heard if they will shrink the 2nd sheet between the Betty and the Ralph to NHL size? I would expect if this happens the big part is in regards to the refrigerant changes that is making it very expensive or impossible to find parts to repair with what has likely been installed.

Glad that NDSU loss came after UND was final so we got to witness it.

I can see Illinois St advancing to finals now with that side of the bracket. They overcame 5 turnovers today. However if you have 5 turnovers against NDSU how many would they have if Tarleton advances past Villanova with their Turnover differential.

Cole Payton injured on the strip said that led to the fumble recovery

ISU TAKES THE LEAD
Rittenhouse almost over threw the wide open receiver

They get a big run to within the 10, then try 3 passes? Oh well the 4th pass went for a TD
That 4th down play the reciever in the back of the end zone just stopped and didn't move when Rittenhouse was scrambling to buy time. Luckily another crosser kept moving and got open.

Never been to a game in the Fargo Dome is lighting terrible? The ESPN feed looks like quality issues

When your sophomore quarterback has significant regression in play the second half of the season you have to seriously question what is going on. Need to bring in a transfer or two and the QB job should be wide open.
Just so questionable in what Simon did to give no trust in even giving him a shot. Would've thought the 2nd half at TT wouldve already granted a chance especially with a QB1 who potentially still showing questionable decision making 1 week after a concussion. And QB2 has been out for the season since Indiana St.

Sounds like Illinois State offense playing extremely well outside of the red zone. But in the red zone already 2 turnovers on downs. Not sure about the rest of their turnovers, but some of the FCS folks I follow indicate that Illinois St is beating themselves

I would rather have touchdown Tommy. There I said it.
King of the short dump passes. Also didn't have speedsters as receivers not sure if that would've mattered with him. But he had the complimentary tall slower receivers that he could dump it to that were sure handed and worked well enough.

Not sure if the ESPN pxp actually think the Tarleton St defense is standing strong, or doesn't want to offend someone by criticizing the UND poor offense. QB literally skipped a ball short of a open receiver who wasn't moving.
-
Sometimes I wish we had the WRs who would run the stick and sit play a yard short so we would at least have 3rd or 4th and 1 instead of just fly routes that after our runs get us to 3rd and 6 we get nothing.

C'mon Jerry. If there is nothing there you have alot or area to move around to give WR more time to run around to try to get open. Tuck and run was less open than any receiver.

If Elrich injury flared up again, and Laughman didn't travel with the team, is there any FG kicker? Silvernail does kickoffs and punts, can't do XPs?
-
The difference in time available for deep passes and the QB confidence to go for it noticable with Rucker injured.

Not sure why we went for 2?
Makes no sense? Down 17, score 6, down 11, XP you get it to 10. 2 pt to 9. Still require already 2 scores?
Elrich is the kicker today and the backup that has been kicking the 2nd half of the year did not travel with the team. On the podcast Schmidt said that everytime Elrich has attempted to kick much in practice he had his injury flare up and gets so sore he can't continue. Possible that happened and they don't have a FG kicker right now? Silvernail did the place kicking

Didn't the first 3 on depth chart all get injured in the first half of the season?

Blew any chance by not changing QBs a long time ago. Jerry is horribly inaccurate.
Even a series or 2 to try.

Why on 3rd and 22 we run the play we should run on 3 and 3? And on 3rd and 3 we run what could be called on 3rd and 22?

Not commenting on officiating overall, but there definitely was a difference in that hit vs the major that was called. Funny thing is the difference is the major point and is absolutely opposite of what the color guy tried arguing. Color guy tried saying "may have been even worse, as head hit the glass". Most rulebooks and higher penalties often associated with hits that are initiated further from the dasher, sending the player on the receiving end that sends them head first into the glass, often at a more dangerous velocity with no chance to protect themself. The crown of the head hitting the boards with the feet taken out is much more dangerous than the face smacking the glass from a hit.
