  1. Positives:  run game, sustained drives, defense getting off the field

Negatives: passing game, no long plays, conservative decisions

    Net zero:  special teams

Overall I’d say better than expected. Could make some noise in the FCS, especially with that run game.

  2. Yes.  My guess is that whoever is updating the website hasn't put all the info on yet.

    https://fightinghawks.com/news/2022/8/4/general-und-athletics-midco-sports-announce-multi-year-television-rights-agreement.aspx

"Midco Sports will broadcast all home hockey, football, men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball contests. The network will also carry select home soccer and softball games. All contests will be produced and carried on Midco Sports, Midco Sports Two or Midco Sports Plus."

Midco isn't responsible for the Bally Sports mess.

Overall I've been satisfied during the (many) years as a Midco cable subscriber, but how come other companies are able to get contracts with Bally but they are not?  I find myself asking my phone how the Twins are doing more than ever before.

It's been years since I recall having someone hit out of the pipe as a first option. Maybe the junior college transfers from Eastern Europe (or wherever) that played for Prior?

Tamara Merseli (from Serbia) is the one you're thinking of.  She was amazing.  Lexi Robinson before her was also good in that role.

One of the few times that I've personally known a student athlete on a UND team.  Congrats to him and his family.  I believe he would have known/played with Starcevic, so maybe that can lure him here, too.

Wait, wasn't Berry getting criticized because he doesn't make in game adjustments?
I have a hard time keeping up with what the current narrative is...

I thought it was Hakstol that didn't make in-game adjustments

    The regionals were entertaining

Absolutely.  Disappointed in UND's result, but throughout the whole weekend, lots of lead changes, pulled goalies, and overtimes.  Can't ask for much more as a hockey fan.

  8. Normally, after UND is eliminated, I cheer for a team that hasn't won a Natty, or is the furthest removed from their previous Natty.  In this case, that happens to be Michigan (1998).  A little less than ideal to cheer for them, but that definitely is a long drought.  As much as it would be nice for NCHC bragging rights, I don't think I can be happy with Denver getting yet another one.  Yikes.  Maybe since BC and BU have been the #1 and #2 teams all year, having them play for the championship in one final battle for ultimate bragging rights is what's best for 2024.

As for the location, St. Paul is about as about as far removed from any of the remaining schools' campuses.  Michigan will probably bring a contingent, but not sure about the other schools.  Probably will be a rink full (hopefully) of college hockey fans from all bases, with a decidedly upper Midwest flair.  Would have been more fun with Nodak, Minny, and Wisco to create some old school Final Five magic.

Whose the und personality on staff

Taylor Budge was specifically mentioned in the article that she will remain in Grand Forks.  Alex Heinert was not mentioned as a laid off personality either, so I would guess his role as primary hockey broadcaster would remain.  But they still need a back up for when he has CBS gigs.  Unless this all some master plan with Summit, NCHC, and Midco, like was alluded to earlier.
