One other question: Do the officials ever sit down with the game tapes? I think every official should have to sit down and watch the games they officiated the next tuesday or something. I can't believe that after watching themselves on tape they would continue to call the games the way they do. I have heard that when teams are extremely upset about a call or a game they send the tape to Shepherd, the head of WCHA officials and he takes a look and deals with the situation; but in my opinion he is the biggest problem--along with his kid. Does anyone know if they are required to watch the tapes?

I agree. The refs just can't keep up with the game and one idiot can't make all the calls. I have been saying for years that the WCHA and college hockey in general should move to a two ref system. Whether that means two refs, one linesman or shelling our the money for a fourth official, i think it would help manage the game. In addition to not keeping up with the play, that would give an extra set of eyes to catch the extra slash to the head Zack (or any other forward) takes everytime someone tackles him behind the play. I know being mean behind the play is part of the game, but it would suck to lose one of our key players because of it.

I must admit I have never been a huge Brandt fan but he has made vast improvements. I would agree right now he is our #1 guy. My only gripe is that he leaves too many rebounds that our defense has to cover. I also hope Blais doesn't loose site of further developing Parise--he is a freshman goalie with wins in his first season against Minnesota Duluth, Boston College, and Minnesota. When you look at the future of Sioux hockey you have to think Parise could play a big role. If you compare where Parise is starting to where Brandt started if he works hard he could end up to be quite a tender. If we are deciding which goaltender should get the start we are in a far better position than last year!

i understand where you are coming from but your ticket prices don't compare to the rip off that the rest of the seats are. not only are season seats 6 times as expensive you also have to add on the club fees. yes college hockey is about college and the students but waiting in line is a small price to pay. Besides, no more lining up two days starting at 4 in the afternoon.
