A big pay by Alex Cloyd and a big sack salted this game away for the second straight week. The ISU hangover is gone.

I won't miss pluto tv next year. Great picture on watch big sky today...pluto not so much.

I am getting the game on big sky conference tv. Couldn't get it on pluto.

I tired of the color commentator talking about how insightful he thinks he is.
I thought the defensive play resulting in the sack on the CP qb on their final possession was a great call by whomever it was that dialed it up. It complimented the offensive call on 4th and 2 quite nicely. Something you don't hear often is UND out coaching its opponent but seems it happened tonight.

To distinguish one first has to care.
Well yeah, there is that. But some people that are paid to care still don't. IIRC the NCAA sent a trophy intended for NDSU to Grand Forks just a few years ago.

It's easy to distinguish USD from SDSU. One has "state" in its name the other does not.
-
No one in the national media has trouble distinguishing Michigan from MSU, Arizona from ASU, Florida from Florida State. I've never understood why differentiating UND from NDSU is such a challenge.

Ok
I can just throw my arms up and say enough for this season. I won’t go to anymore games and just move on. (I won’t)
The players and coaches cannot do that - nor would I expect or want them to. Hopefully they can keep up their spirits and pride to finish strong. I am sure they would appreciate and need encouragement at this time.
This isn’t easy or ideal for the team or fans. That said, it isn’t life ending either.
Likewise, my emotion response to the debacle vs ISU is to say I'm all done with UND football for the season. But knowing myself I'll watch the game next Saturday. I'll recite a litany of excuses in my head for our poor play as justification for doing so. Granted all the excuses will be just as bad as our play last Saturday.

One thing I noticed was how valuable Galvin is at safety. His loss made a difference..
I thought the targeting call against him was at least questionable...

I'm sure the UCD fans are talking about things they could have done better. I thought their tackling by their secondary players was poor , especially early in the game such as the TD pass to Maag. That's how football is, lots of coulda/shouldas afterwards. Enjoy the win. ISU will be tough next week.

If Kett struggles and is not pulled we lose...and I will have to re-evaluate how I'm going to use my Saturdays for the next couple months.

One could argue that top level talent doesnt want to play in North Dakota, but then one would have to explain away the success of NDSU.

Last Saturday you could tell who the better team was. It was the team that had scored the most points when the game was over. You could also tell who wanted to play winning football looking at body language. The guys in white sauntered up to the line of scrimmage like they weren't so sure about things, especially in the first half. The players in red broke from their offensive hurdles and moved up to the line of scrimmage enthusiastically. Had the body language been the reverse , the guys in white may have been the better team.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if UND gives Davis a close game or actually defeats Davis. The problem is consistency. UND just has never been able to perform at a high level week in week out at the FCS level with 2016 being somewhat of an exception. Ketteringham was ineffective toward the end of last season. I'm not sure why the coaching staff concluded his sub-par play was behind him because by all appearances it is not.

I have only once heard a broadcast that broke away from the play by play to discuss unrelated matters more than this broadcast.
Oh yeah, we stink.

That red field is hard to look at. It's even worse than Boise State's blue field.

Trying to decide whether to wear kelly green and a Hawks hat while watching at home by myself, or if I'm too old for that sort of thing...

My predictions are predictably wrong, so I'll do my duty to increase the odds of a UND win.
EWU 35, UND 24

More than any game left on our schedule, I'd like to beat the Eagles while we're still playing a Big Sky schedule. We will get more shots at the xDSU's of the world in coming years, but not EWU.

"To me they haven't seen nobody like us," Eastern Washington wide receiver Jayson Williams said. "They haven't seen a receiving core like us. Earlier on they played North Dakota State and that's a top dog right now in the last few years. But North Dakota State isn't Eastern Washington. We got the wide receiving core, we got the quarterback and the offensive line. They haven't seen our offensive line. If we are clicking, nobody is going to stop us."
These comments don't speak well for the English dept. at EWU.

A win is a win and a win is something to be happy about, but this team did not look like a contender doing a shakedown cruise getting ready for the FCS heavyweights.
