  1. OK...let's quit the music major bashing...it's not fair to the music community to include this bonehead in it. I doubt that he's smart enough to be part of the music community at Michigan. Michigan is actually a great school and its performing arts school (including music) is nearly impossible to get into. And if you are talented enough, it costs $28,000 a year plus books, room and board.

Most people are proud of their roots. This guy is too stupid to honor his or his family that raised him here and he does Michigan no justice whatsoever with his drivel...he comes off looking like the sour grapes butthole surfer that he probably is....

  2. You cannot win a national championship with 3 fresman d and Radke playing regular shifts. We will be loaded at forward next year D is the only potential weak spot.

This is why I'm so happy that we have great goal tending for next year. I think they are going to save our butts...you have to admit that our defensive efforts were not perfect early on and D turned the puck over a number of times early in the season and in the last game, and great goaltending pulled us through alot of those games...great goaltending will allow the freshmen to make a few, but not many, mistakes and learn. What would happen do if Sioux had a Kellen Briggs instead of a Jordan or a Lammy??? That would be too scary to watch which is why the Gophers were so cautious about this past season's campaign...fresh defense and soft goaltending...not a good combination.

  3. Edmonton has already stated that they don't think he will benefit from more college play. I'm sure both sides are weighing money with the Greene side thinking "if you want me to play pro, make an offer I can accept" and the Edmonton side thinking "you are risking significant injury and/or a slow-down in your progress"...so somewhere in the middle, they will come together.

For all the penalties, some not so smart, I still say that Matt Greene is the most dominant of all college level defensemen. I guess he gets tired of being slashed across the elbow everytime he's on the ice and occassionally retaliates...wwud???

I'd love to see him play for the Sioux next year, but I wouldn't be surprized if he is suiting up in the AHL before this year's play-off time (if that's still a possibility - I'm not sure about deadlines, etc.)...

  4. I'll chime in with a big thanks to Mr. Dahl and company for keeping this site alive and thriving. I just got back to Fargo and, while it hurts to see the headlines, I know that we will be there again next year or the next - you can't keep the Sioux out. When I looked up at the banners hanging in the Schottenstein it really struck me how difficult it really is to even get to the final four, even harder to win it all.

I met lots of great people and I hope to see you all again in Milwaukee next year.

  5. Reusse's article is just plain true - No matter what, Lucia simply can not give props to the Fighting Sioux...The gophs get the easy path, the Sioux take the hard route and when they meet and the Sioux win, Lucia can't say the Sioux are a good team and wish them well - all he can say is "we are a young team"...Props to Reusse for calling him on it...

  6. Supertrex-My posts last night may have been affected by a couple victory Tequila shots.  My wife has given me the go ahead to go to Columbus, a couple of us are working on it today.  We did have a great time watching the game last night @ Playmakers in Fargo, I'm sure it's nothing like being there though.

I hope to see you here. There are plenty of tickets available...and empty seats in the sioux section that you can crowd into after you get in the door...

  7. Winning will be the best revenge...and in the post-game interview, if they mention the "Bina Incident" as their rallying point, that will sting more than any ass-whooping. Also, I'd rather have UND's program seen as a class act nationally rather than a bunch of brawlers and you can bet the east media will play it that way if a big fight breaks out...

  8. It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Columbus. And the city has now been declared a Rodent-free zone.

Also, usually there is a party or gathering on the Friday for the Sioux fans...Does anyone know where this is? I'm thinking the Crowne, but I would appreciate knowing...

Going to the Hobey presentation. Then an open skate. Should be a great day.

  9. I have the hottest coolest wife with 3 children that just got back from Florida a couple weeks ago, that's trying to figure a way to get there.  We just talked to some friends that are there, we got to figure this deal out.

Flatbed your butts up here Larry...It's going to be priceless...

  10. Live from Columbus....it's raining today...

Went to the practice yesterday afternoon. They looked loose and ready. The practice was light. They worked on passing and transition. No work on powerplay/penalty kill. They had a scoring contest. JPar and crew allowed four in the first round - the contest was won by Coach Berry. All in all, they seemed relaxed, but focused. I didn't stay for the Gopher practice.

Lots of Maine, UNH, and Lake Superior fans. And of course Sioux fans. Not many Gophers yet.

Can't wait until tonight. Let's go Sioux!!!

    Rex...

  11. An article in the Fargo Forum this morning discussed the tough season the Bison are having in D-1 but how much they are improving as a result of the competition. :D . Looks like they got some more work to do...

  12. Here is where you really don't get it.  Minnesota would never have been blasted out if it's own rink.

When I said "blasted", I meant getting blown out of a game with CC. It had nothing to do with where they played.

  13. Someone is missing the point on the whole Gopher #1 seed thing. The reason the Gophers ended up in the Frozen Four is because they were a number one seed and as a result, didn't have to play Colorado...Get it now???

And just so you know up there, we as fans don't need to stay focused...we're not playing. We can be as crazy as we want and be as over-confident as we please.

On the otherhand, I'm sure the Sioux team isn't focusing on the past performance of the Gophers...the Gophers will show up without regard to whatever they did in November and December (averaged over 5 goals a game) or February and March (averaged under two??).

The Sioux will show up too. I like the Sioux's chances a bit better since they have been on the upswing. And they didn't put in any half-hearted efforts in certain games that other teams considered unimportant. As a result, they are running on all cylinders.

This will be a classic game that I am so excited to be attending.

    Go Sioux...
