  1. Is Montana Tech the type of team the NDSU fans wanted to see when going D1? I know their in a bind with their schedule, but an NAIA school. They never played one when they were D2
  2. sorry, got cut off. Having ten full rides and an unlimited budget can make up for losing seasons more so than a school like SW Minnesota or any other NSIC team. I just hope SMSU can get like that some day.
  3. It's amazing how facilities and money can make such an impact. I just don't see how UND can be on so many good players or why these players want to play for UND. They haven't won alot in many years. Yes, I believe that UND is a good program but your so lucky (and I don't mean that in a bad way at all) to have the facili
  4. doclenz, you mention there are no men that are women's coaches in Minnesota State schools? Our coach at SMSU is a male. Won 20-plus games for four straight years until this season. Our newspaper reported on Saturday that he has applied for Mankato. We'll see. I've heard Johnston may get it though. Heck, maybe he'll want Omaha instead of Mankato
  5. That is typical Nagy comments. Whenever his team have a close game, it's because their bad and not the other teams playing well.
  6. That is correct. There an no (half rides in D1) If anyone says they were offered a partial scholarship, they are completly wrong. In D1 basketball, football and I think volleyball. It's full ride or nothing
  7. Concordia St. Paul? Wow, have times changed. Some may want them? Winona State would be good. People look at football and base their opinions just on one sport. I believe the two leagues will merge. 9 NSIC and 7 NCC. Crookston I heard may be out as a D2. That makes 15 schools. Not great, maybe add one more to make 16? Beside football, which they say will improve will a new coach and hopefully new field coming in, SW Minnesota State in the NCC? Good basketball, volleyball, baseball, golf and has wrestling. Who knows. Of course everyone around Marshall hears that UND will go D1 someday anyways. Will that happen in you opinion?
  8. Northern State is a pretty good basketball program. Being #2 on the list is bad
  9. That is too bad the two teams can't play. I heard the Bison are coming to Marshall for a tournament next year. It will be interesting to see if the UND men play any road games next year. It sounds like their "buying" alot of home games, getting teams to play there. Making a run so they can host the regional and win the region. With the Elite Eight coming to Grand Forks, not a bad plan.
  10. You can't have a D1 transfer come and play to start second semester. In the old days, but not anymore
  11. Your right about the BSU head coach. He's now in his third year and I think he's had something like 20 tech fouls. He's big complainer. They are a scary team at home, they've only had 2 home games all season. But your right, he's a big baby. IN general, I agree the NCC is a little more physical, but not much. The NSIC as it gets better is getting more physical and listening to our head coach on radio, etc he doesn't complain about it. It's just fun to watch good hoops this year. Should be a great regional. Any pre conferenc thoughts where the regional will be held? Looks like SDSU. The RMAC's top team Metro State was beaten my Duluth and Winona. Kearney sounds like their solid again. But I'm saying SDSU in March.
  12. Not saying he isn't good. But my point, UND has two starters playing and lose to Bemidji , Southwest and Mary. Then without nobles and Parks UND beats Concordia and Northern on the road. It's weird how that works out. Just adding a new guy doesn't mean they'll win a ton more games. Also what kind of shape is he in and his mental frame of mind? He may be better than Keaveny and if he is, wow! If I remember, Keaveny dropped 25 points on the Sioux already this year
  13. I'm sure this guy will help. But it doesn't mean more wins. Look at the facts. UND lost some games with NObles and Parks in the lineup and then lose both and then win some big games. This guy I"m sure will help, but 20 points per game better? Not sure.
  14. central washington in this region? I thought it was just the NCC, NSIC and GLIAC?

    New Region

As an outsider, congrats UND on your football season. I wish my team SW Minnesota State would finish in the top half of the NSIC for goodness sake . Maybe one of your assistants will go after our football opening. Please! One thing to remember, next year the NCC, NSIC and GLIAC all in the same region. Grand Valley State at UND in the region finals could happen next year. This now makes the Midwest Region (if they keep that name) probably the toughest in the nation, again!
  16. I'm so bored with that racial stuff. I hope it didn't happen, but everytime southern schools complain, it is racial stuff. Like teams from up in the north don't have blacks on their teams. They think all northern people are racists. Give it up, UND won and North Alabama loss. They should be going after their drug addicts on their team that may have cost them the game!
  17. WSUWarrior. Give you credit for coming on. Ijust figured since your station was the only one on the web, Winona must not have a station in town covering. My bad, sorry
  18. I think some of these teams (like SMSU ) are trying to get there in money. I've heard we have just as much (like 14-15 rides) as Winona. I'm sure SMSU would like more but it takes time. No the NSIC isn't close to the NCC in football from top to bottom, the point is no one and I mean no one, including me thought an NSIC team would make the playoffs let alone win a game for at least 10 years. As for UMD leaving for the NCC. Good luck. Leave, finish 3rd in football and they want to move to a "better league". It will all be one conference someday anyway.

    UNA

My lost post of the day. North Alabama. There is no way UND can win this is there? This team is great I hear and undefeated.
  20. also, does anyone think WSU shold've called timeout or let UND score right away.
  21. Please, please. I'm a fan of the NSIC. Please, have no one rip the NSIC. Give WSU credit, the UND magic in 2003 is simple unreal. WSU just dominated the second half and maybe should've won the game. 36 full rides to 14 for WSU. Again, I give credit to North Dakota, but Winona is the real deal and they deserve respect BIG TIME!
  22. WSU should've let UND score to save time. Bad call by WSU
  23. They couldn't move the ball all second half and then they do. Unreal UND's luck in 2003. WSU must be sick. 14 full rides to 36 full rides. Give WSU credit good luck UND
