I remember the day nobody could refer to the team as Fighting Sioux anymore.
The announcer stumbled on his words, almost saying it several times. Leaving the game and listening to TH on 96 while driving home stumbling on his words trying not to say Sioux!
Now everyone is in denial, including me. They are the Sioux, dammit! The players comment on twitter, they hash tag Sioux. The players interviewed for Through these doors and etc... They say "fighting Sioux". The players huddle around the goalie at the start of the game, they break by saying "Sioux"!
Maybe they, we, everyone needs to let go?
Pay money, have a team of lawyers work for it, or just plain lobby to get the name back!
Or just let it go.
They have not been the same since that day! At least in my opinion they haven't. The only thing I want more than them warriors to be called the fighting Sioux is....to play as a team like they used to, to be feared like they used to be. To have coaches from the opponents team say "if we can weather the storm here in the first period we have a chance to win"
It just hasn't been the same team since that day.

What would have been Gino's record had he not been athletic director and concentrated only on the coaching position?
What does this mean, he would have had the same records as Hak does now if he didn't have the pressure of being the AD besides coaching? Are you really trying to say Gino and Hak are comparable and Hak should be replaced because he is "just like Gino was before he was fired" with this complaint? Or am I reading you wrong?

Gino was 17-21-1, 12-25-1 and 11-23-1 in his last 3 years at UND. His last NCAA tournament appearance was 1990 (he coached the team for 4 more years). Let us know how that compares to Hakstol never having a losing record at UND and never missing the tournament.

November 2011. UND started 4-7-1 that year. Translation: back away from the ledge and give the team a little time to figure it out. That 2011 team ended up as a #1 seed and won the Final Five.

You may be confused. Back then college players left their teams for the entire season when they were in the Olympics.

We can play that game all day. For instance, had half our team not left in 1980 for the Olympics than we would have 6 and UND would have 6.
Nowhere on here does it say the games were played Feb 22nd 1980?

The kiss off comment was meant as all Sioux fans can kiss off if they don't like what is going on... I can see how you took it as I was directing it at you. I'm not big on the whole internet tough-guy thing so I wouldn't wait by the phone for my call. You can certainly PM me if you need to get something off your chest.
I think it sucks that this team is under-performing and I don't believe Hak gets the most out of his players. I think he has had a fine career at UND but how long does he get to stay coaching without a title? Another ten years? For the Hak lovers, do we need three years of missing the NCAA's like gophers a few years back to talk about replacing him? I actually hope Hak keeps his job a least until the next couple of year's recruits come in... we have seen what happens to some recruits when coaches (Gwoz) are fired. As a fan I certainly feel we have the right to question the coaches abilities and I don't think Hak has always done a stellar job. In fact I think he has done a terrible job at times. That's my opinion, feel free to disagree with it.
Do you guys ever here the announcers talk about Hak before almost every away game?
I think UND would be a laughing stalk if they fired Hak for what people are complaining about on here.
Besides it looking ridiculous, it would be ridiculous!
I think they turned a corner last night, looked like a better team to me!
But I suppose I wear green glasses..
