Until we start putting people in the seats for our games, we probably shouldn't comment on the AC. They had over 15,000 for a nothing game Sat and we will be lucky to get 8-9000 for a very good Cal Poly team this Sat. Taylor's job is secure and does not depend on the rivalry. We need to get a lot better before we worry too much about the rivalry. I wouldn't want the team that laid an egg against Sioux Falls to represent UND against the AC. I am not sure they would want to send their team against UND either. It has been embarrassing enough for both schools the way it is. If fans don't want to watch UND play Sioux Falls, why would you want to watch them play the AC? Sioux Falls is probably the better team.
Taylors NOT the problem - his job is all about putting asses in seats - Chappy was the c*ckblocker on that whole deal...Gene is in a great position to schedule the next 2 games at the fargoBarn with a little payout but in recent history - playing in that hideous shed has been to UND's advantage so i say...GAME ON!!! All Gene needs is a green light from the "new" ndsu president.

I was at the Betty for the game against NJIT...GREAT CROWD and a very entertaining match! Volleyball is MOVING UP the ranks of spectator sports on the DI level - and that's a good thing for UND. Have to say Coach Hardee is doing a really good job in his 1st season!

Not that it will matter to you...but if you don't click the little box that says something like send me more information about your product then you won't be subjected to their pitch. I have yet to receive any solicitation by the company since I started voting back in 06 or 07.
The finalist videos are shown during the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Finalist Show which in years past has been shown on ABC. I wonder how many people saw former Coach Lennon's video then?
One last comment...then I need to go vote for today...I wonder if these four coaches feel like they got shammed last year?
ugghh! I'm not saying the coaches got "shammed" - it's a SHAM in principle! ie - the coach that can get the most votes in an internet contest is considered this company's "Coach of the Year"....WHY?
?;) Because they corralled the biggest nerd army to vote for them? That's no criteria for a "Coach of the Year" - and I opted out of LM's email list and STILL got email solicitations!

The Liberty Mutual COTY thing is a total work..check out Dales "VIDEO" they produced 2 years ago when he was a "finalist" - not bad but it got less than 500 VIEWS on YOUTUBE for crying out loud!!!

All I can say is that sometimes this sh*% happens. Sometimes the kids don't have their heads screwed on right for a game and they get embarrassed by somebody they should have beat. If there was an easy fix for it, it would never happen. How do you think Ohio St feels about losing to Purdue yesterday? Or remember Appalachian St over Michigan last year? It happens to the best teams out there.
That's not to say it's acceptable. I'd venture a guess that as long as any of yesterday's players are on the team, they'll make sure among themselves that it won't happen again.
This is the kind of thing that will test a team's character. Some never get over it and the season is basically shot. But some teams learn from it and do their best to get better every game afterward - for personal pride if nothing else. With the way this team has fought and won against teams that should have beat them (remember last week?), my guess is that they will prove to be the second kind.

If you could have been in the Al during the '01 national semifinals against UC-Davis and HOW THE STUDENT SECTION was TOTALLY FILLED 2 hours early - They PACKED THE PLACE TO EVERY SEAT and turned (future NFL QB) JT Sullivan into their little BITCH because he had "long hair"...IT WAS EPIC!!!!
That's what UND needs for the DI transition....not only can we do it? WE ALREADY DID IT!!! But you "hockey ONLY" fans are just holding us back...EMBRACE the entire move! That's all I have to say..

Not to say I told you so but...
As I pointed out earlier, this was just plain stupid scheduling. It was pretty obvious coming into the year that this would be a down season for UND so not only does the athletic department schedule this type of game against an outstanding lower division opponent, but they also schedule it against a team from within the region where the negatives from a potential loss are magnified? There are certain things you just do not do when trying to build a program and one of them is schedule yourself into a no win situation.
It is amazing to me just how bad the 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes are. One of those years UND brought in six linebackers and none of them are left on the roster? Ever since Bubba Schweigert left the coaching staff, the recruiting on the defensive side of the ball has been subpar. Every single defensive player on UMD's D-II championship team last year was recruited by Bubba and every single one of them was from the same area that UND recruits. Probably not a coincidence.
Faison didn't have a lot of "options" for home games for UND this season. It was totally a matter of "beggars can't be choosers" and it blew up in our face...it happens. UNI thought they booked an easy home win a couple years ago and UND shocked them at home. Now we're on the other end of a david/goliath game....so what...there's always next week!

USF's crowd of 500 absolutely put UND's paltry turnout of what, 7500 today?, to shame as far as enthusiasm but the most disturbing thing recently is the lack of student turnout. WTF guys?? Last week against Stony Brook - the student section was 1/3 full. I would have give my left nut for a turnout like that yesterday against USF because it was EVEN LESS!! What gives??? The AL is OUR HOUSE!
