  1. RFM had a buyout clause with UND (for an embarassing low amount) which they excercised and payed - done deal! Life goes on...

Hopefully all the advertisers the "REAL" Bison fans spammed, shat on, and otherwiser complained too ABOUT KFGO when they thought they railroaded Mummy Joe Chapman out of a job and "promoted" UND in the Land O' ficklyBUFFOLOES - and OPENLY CALLED for Joel Heitkamps HEAD while heating up the tar and feathers will be willing to come back after the "sh*tstorm" they promised they'd raise!:(

PS - Gene Taylor THANKED HIMSELF at his own press conference for landing this deal! That says a lot about what a doo-sh BAG he is!! (I'd throw in Kent State REJECT but that would just seem cruel!)

  2. Hey if you don't mind...I know you guys don't have any teams in the DIVISION ONE POSTSEASON PLAYOFFS but we're trying to focus on our NCAA Regional games working toward ANOTHER Frozen Four bearth so maybe you can take this up on another "board" that has a LOT LESS TO TALK ABOUT right now :D - but HEY! Chin up bison buddies! Softball season is right around the corner!!! :D

  3. A teachable moment and "the Sioux won".

Can you explain the "teachable part" of THAT analogy? Seems like it didn't really work out well in the short term for Custer or the long term for the Sioux indians - and you wrap it up bringing it back to a college sports nickname analogy?

    THANKS Professor!

  4. Don't pretend to be so innocently naive, you're not.

You know full well that your examples don't impart near the personally degrading connotations that 'Whiskey Joe' does. :)

The REAL beauty of runnin' MUMMY JOE outta TOWN is he and his manipulative, greedy wife NEVER GOT TO SPEND 1 DAY in their dream house - (not even in the "BONUS" room!)

    haHA!!!!! :)

  5. Here's a free piece of advice, try using the toilet paper to wipe your azz, not stuffing your bra. ???

    FACE*!!!!!!!

NICE SiouxSHA!!! (discreet high 5 as well!) :)

(* - TRIBUTE to "Breakin' FACE" - the little pimple-faced middle schooler that used to post here until he was FINALLY introduced to Accutane - or went on to "bust balls" on a Lord of the Rings Message Board- either way - WE WIN!!! ;) )

  6. here's one school NO ONE gave a chance against the MIGHTY GONZAGA! GO GAELS*!!!!!!!

    GO St. Mary's!!!!!

What a great story about a school like this making the BIG DANCE! They are the equivalent to Holy Cross beating the GOOFS a couple years ago at the NCAA Hockey regional and probably the big Cinderella this year!

(* - god what an awful nickname though!)

  7. Don't agree with that at all. In women's basketball, the old NCC was at least a low-level DI competition and in some years higher. Great West basketball is inferior to what UND competed with in the NCC (both men and women).

During UND's championship years, UND was rated as high as 30 and usually above 50in the Massey all-divisions ratings. Even in the last years of the NCC, UND was typically around 100. Those championships teams could possibly have won a first round DI tournament game.

The upper few power teams of women's D2 basketball is almost always historically within the top 100 of Massey. There is normally a much wider discrepancy between men's DI and DII then between women's DI and DII (although this year appears to be unusual as there aren't any DII women's teams that can compete at a top 100 level in DI)

Congrats to the ladies on salvaging a +.500 season after a rough start, injuries, and quitters to make a run to win the first DI Conference Title they could have won - and they did! That IS a nice accompishment because it was the highest thing they had to shoot for and they got it! (The UTPA game was a nice HOME victory lap for Kayla, Jossy, Whitney and Alys - They all kicked *SS! THANKS LADIES!)

Next year is going to be the REAL CHALLENGE because we return 1 regular starte?....ohboy...

  8. The Alerus has a record of losing money on nearly EVERY major concert they've done. These guys have had every chance of making it a go but they can't. Why would we continue to give them a blank check?

Hey Whistler! You should have Sherman actually drive you BY the Alerus latety....TONS of renovations done AND currently underway - including a new row of glass windows on Suite Level AND a build out on the Convention entrance. WHAT GIVES??? We all thought you were trying to SAVE us money on that "albatross"??? It seems like the more you bitch - the MORE IS BEING DONE! You need to get REALLY PISSED about it because they really DO need to replace that hideous carpet inside....IMO:silly:

  9. When they got rid of Potts, they enabled Chapman. They allowed to him to do whatever he wanted and he pushed it and finally pushed it too far. There are still some saying that the end (growth) justified the means. Sad.

It didn't - put ndsu in the hole, literally and figuratively (Menard Hall Joke - SORRY! ??? ) Chapman bailed out at the first sign of trouble becuase he KNEW what would come out later so he rode out of town as a "hero" and now he can't even pick up his phone in retirement. The ONLY thing North Dakotans got out of this deal is the satisfaction the MUMMY and PAYMENOW Gail never got to live in the HOUSE THAT HUBRIS BUILT :p:D

    pretty funny actually....

  10. You are really good at putting words in my mouth. I AM NOT trying to set any "rules" for anybody. I also am NOT implying that the USA Women's Hockey Team has anything to be ashamed of. All I said is that finishing "Runner-Up" in team sports sucks, whatever tournament we are talking about. Obviously, you don't feel the same way about it. That is fine, but if you want to convince me that I am wrong and you are right, calling me a "loser" and a "fanboy" isn't going to get it done. Got it? :glare:

And like I said before, if playing competitive sports (not pick-up games with friends or neighborhood kids) is a requirement for posting on here or anyplace else, then I think we should shut this forum down and do background checks on everyone that has an account here so we can weed out the "Fanboys" like myself. What I am saying is no different from what other people on here say after our Fighting Sioux hockey team loses badly in the Frozen Four. But in your myopic, "duckies and bunnies" world, any expression of frustration by any fan about any loss at any time is unacceptable and inappropriate. If anything, YOU are being judgemental here, not me. And you are just as much of a "fanboy" as I am. :D

why would I judge someone with no cred YET such high standards, I don't know....OH! DINGGG!!!! Hey - your PizzaROLLS are done! (mmmmm-pizzarolls!)

So...watching todays Olympic Gold Medal game....AFTER you wipe the Pepperoni grease off your face - you'd walk up to Zach Parise and tell him how "let down" you are his MONSTER effort with :23 seconds left to send that game into overtime that wasn't "QUITE" enough becuase the USA ultimately lost? WOW! You have no appreciation of sports - at ALL! I'm going to guess you were a major contributor (if not the starter) for the eternally-MORONIC "FIRE HAKSTOL! Thread" in the main hockey forum...WAIT!!

    Here's a flash....

Your Mozzarella sticks are ready!!! (Just in time for the WCHA playoffs FANBOY~ :) - ENJOY!!!!...mmmm.,,,CHEWY!)

  11. Well, if having to have played organized sports at a high level is a prerequisite to posting on this forum, then that disqualifies a large percentage of the people registered on here. So I will leave that particular can of worms where you left it. :)

My opinion (and that is ALL it is) is that finishing Runner-Up in team sports sucks. And I believe that to be true. And most of the people on here that bleed Green and White also believe that. We have high standards for our Fighting Sioux teams (hockey and football in particular). And when those standards are not met, we are disappointed. Not ashamed of our team, but disappointed. The only time I am ever ashamed of any of my teams is when they don't put forth the necessary effort to win and don't give themselves a chance to win. I don't think that was the case with the USA Women's Hockey Team on Thursday and it usually isn't the case with our Fighting Sioux teams. And I understand the inherent unpredictability and cruelty of sports; sometimes it just doesn't happen. But when you get that close to sports immortality and fall short, it is a very bitter pill to swallow.

Of course, if you take the Duckies and Bunnies approach (as you are right now), it is unacceptable to be disappointed in losing because "they got there and that is all that matters". If you REALLY think that the USA Women's Team is not disappointed in Thursday's outcome, then you are the one that doesn't get it. And I REALLY hope that none of the teams that I support will start taking that approach to their respective crafts. And I REALLY don't think they will, because unlike most of us, they are world-class athletes who expect the absolute best of themselves.

And please don't EVER call me a bandwagon jumper. I have endured plenty of bad seasons from my teams (Vikings, Sioux, Twins, etc). I stick with my teams whether they win or lose. I am still a Minnesota Vikings fan after all these years and I always will be. I will always cheer for the Fighting Sioux in all sports. I will always cheer for Team USA in all tournaments in all sports. But that doesn't mean I won't express my frustration over tough losses. That is part of being a fan. And if you can't understand that, then you just don't get it.

    My 2 cents.

Playing a competitive sport on ANY level might at least give you an idea how a team can play their BALLS OFF and still lose but not feel the need to feel bad about it. I'd say the ladies did the same (metaphorically!) but don't have anything to be ashamed of like YOU'RE implying. You're a FANBOY - great - they're the athletes who actually PLAYED the game and lost. Watching from the outside and trying to set the "rules" makes you a judgemental LOSER and who cares about your opinion!

  12. I figured someone would get riled up about what I wrote. That's fine.

And no, I wouldn't toss it in the garbage OR pawn it off for cash. That would be disrespectful of the Olympics and of the team I played on. But I certainly wouldn't celebrate and be happy about it. I suppose in five or ten years, I would feel differently than the day after, but I still would regret not winning what I set out to win and that was Gold. I am sure the girls on that team are not in a happy or celebratory mood right now and I do not blame them.

I guess all I want is for USA Hockey (USA anything, really) to not settle for anything less than Gold and not be satisfied with Silver or Bronze. Just as I have high standards for our Fighting Sioux teams. And I think the Women's Hockey program will continue to win international tournaments and will be back in the hunt in 2014 in Russia. But that doesn't make the losses suck any less. Again, just my opinion. Feel free to flame away if you wish.

I wouldn't "FLAME" you based on your opinion...but it's just that! Your opinion. YOU have "high standards" - BASED ON WHAT? Actual athletic competition or just what you've seen on TV?

Have you competed in the Olympics or played in an NCAA Championship game or even ever been a marginal member of a High School team that played for something so small as a state championship? (Or ever had ANY athletic success in your life?) There is a level of accomplishment just GETTING to the big game that should be respected. Winning is great - (but it's NOT everything)

Losing doesn't make you a LOSER - only how you react to it does. As an athlete it should make you strive for better - as a FAN who can do nothing but criticize....so go ahead and bitch littleman!

We're ALL BE WAITING TO SEE what YOU do next ?:):D We can't WAIT for you to jump right back on the bandwagon when you team starts "WINNING" again to your level of NERD-Satisfaction!

  13. No disrespect to Team USA, but I wouldn't even care about winning a Silver Medal in a team sport like hockey or even basketball. Runner-Up is one of the worst things to be in a team sport and I can't imagine how painful it is for them. It's like getting the Runner-Up trophy in the Frozen Four; nobody even wants to touch it or carry it around. I think I have heard some NHL players say that it is better to not make the playoffs than to get to the Stanley Cup Finals and lose. Unless you are on a team that was not expected to win a medal at all, winning Silver really doesn't feel like winning at all. I think I would take my Silver Medal and put it in a safe and just leave it there.

I do think it is a little different in individual sports, but in team sports Runner-Up just plain sucks. Just my opinion, nothing more.

If "winning" silver means nothing to you - why wouldn't you just throw your medal in the garbage? The next thing you say is you'd put it in a safe - so it obviously has SOME value - even to you :D

The team was trying to WIN gold - they lost and took the silver - AN OLYMPIC SILVER MEDAL!!! (It's not exactly a pink participation ribbon - maybe you can brush of your "embarrasment" and show us your OLYMPIC Silver Medal? :silly: )

It's an entirely honorable consolation prize for their efforts AND an incentive for 2014! Congrats to TeamUSA on their effort (Hopefully the L girls made some nice contacts they can bring back to GF as well)

  14. Holy crap that was an amazing game to watch! I was sweating bulllets late in the 3rd when Canada was pouring it on (BEFORE pulling their goalie) and the US scored the late (and acrobatic) empty-netter!

I'm really proud of not only the guys that played at UND but all the familiar opponents we played against in the recent frozen fours - WOW! Anyone that says NCAA Hockey (feeding the NHL) is a "minor sport" is a !@#!$!!! These guys proved they were WORLD CLASS ATHLETES tonight on the world stage and former UND players were front and center on both teams! I just want to be neutral and say GO SIOUX!!! :D

  15. So far, I like this interim President. It appears that he's facing the issues head on and not sweeping anything under the carpet.

On a side note, does anyone know why they gave him a kiddie chair to sit on?

It's SOOOOO High School! They want to make him look "FAT" (so the skinny girls at ndsu likes Lakes can make fun of him!)

ON A SIMILIAR NOTE: all I know is Chapmans THRONE from his mansion (which he called the BEST SEAT in North Dakota :D ) is currently for sale on Ebay...(I guess Gail needed the money to supplement loss of her loss of "income":) )

  16. How many College Presidents & Athletic Directors have been Canned (or resigned) for Stupidity ? ? ?

You know they cancelled "Lance Link - Secret Chimp" on TV because they forced the chimps to smoke cigarettes for human amusement right?? I'm afraid your credibility is suffering because of your avatar...just fyi!

  17. what a joke! Marvin should have pushed ALL IN and got it over with. The stink of his ending Chay's college career WILL follow him WHEREVER HE GOES (ask Paukovich) in his hockey career - and he will have to answer for it someday without having the skirt of a UND-hating league official to hide behind.

I feel bad it's a kid from Warroad kid but he made his own bed...and YEAH he dropped right along with Mario and MARIO gets suspended? B*LLSHIT!

Put another couple nickels in the tanning bed McLeod!! You're a total TOOL!!!

  18. Well...we can't argue with this logic!!!!! I'm all GF and always have been compared to Fargo but this is one subject we can't touch. The AL is a worse money pit than the NDSU house.

No it's not but there's an appropriate thread about that elsewhere on this board - go there is you want to bitch about that. Let's keep this thread about the house THE MUMMY built!
