Bison 88 Sioux 63 Will be a tough game for the Sioux Men's team..

Yep.. Sometimes the ball bounces your way.. The Griz fans are not happy. I was browsing EGRIZ board earlier in the week and coach is on the hot seat bigtime...

I hope the Bison can take care of business on Saturday as I am planning on traveling to Bozeman. I predict the the Fargodome will have between 16-17k on Saturday.. I'm hoping for a sellout but with the students on break might not happen..

Put up the $500,000 and I'm sure Taylor/Bohl would love to play the Sioux at home.. Should be enough to pay for the bus trip north..

Recruiting is another reason on the scheduling of the UND/NDSU hasn't happened.. the games against Minnesota, Kansas, etc. all help that exposure.. I would love to see all ND, SD, MN kids playing for UND & NDSU but many of the speed positions like receiver and corner back are going to come from Texas, FL, CA, etc. Take a look at the Big Sky Conference Champ Mont. State, half the players at WR or CB are from the states I just listed. Bison have similar stats listed at the speed postions. UND and NDSU are gonna get most of the instate blue chippers but many of those speed positions are going to come from the states listed as there are just not enough of them locally..

Once UND starts the Big Sky conference schedule, they will see why depth is do important. Look at Southern Illinois and Dave Lennon, they've been decimated with injuries this year. Playoffs and conference title last year and the next out of contention.. NDSU was plagued with injuries last year and it was very noticable on defense with our LBs.. the quality of football in the Big Sky and MVFC will take their toll. Depth will be the key..

QB and offensive line are some the keys.. but you need a qb coach and offensive coordinator to go with it. With the parity in FCS, I also see depth on the roster as an achilles heal of many teams. NDSU had to dress a running back as a linebacker last year with all the injuries we had. UND will find that the Big Sky will be a very physical conference and that the key to winning will be depth. NDSU found out the hard way last year.

The last thing I want is some bureaucrat messing with my football.. The ADs from NDSU and UND should agree to do the game every other year that was talked about. It would be a starting point. Once UND starts the Big Sky conference schedule, they will see how tough it is to schedule a annual game with the Bison. The few non-conference games are used for the big money matchups like Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa State. I would like to play the Sioux yearly but it doesn't sound like it's gonna happen.

After the Bison's performance yesterday, I was surprised we made the playoffs. If Montana would have won yesterday, they might be in and NDSU out. Big Sky got 2 teams in and the MVFC 3, but it could have easily been reversed. Being in a good conference and strength of schedule is important when the selection committee meets. I believe we will be talking about UND in the playoffs in a couple of years.. FCS has alot of parity. The days of beating Augustana 50-0 are long gone..

It will be a good game in Vermillion.. If the Sioux can stop Warren scrambling for first downs.. Sioux by 5.. If not Yotes win by 7..
