The ND House of Representatives will be voting on keeping our Fighting Sioux name and logo this Monday, Feb. 21st starting at 1pm. Please email our legislators and ask them to vote for House Bill 1263! Let us show them that our identity is important!

How many of you know that UND DID NOT HAVE TO GET RID OF OUR NAME AND LOGO? I have a letter sent to a gentlemen at Spirt Lake back in Sept. 2010 from Mr. Franklin at the NCAA stating the fact. The only thing that UND would lose is the right to host a NCAA tournament. From what I hear, it is a losing proposition for the hosting college since the NCAA comes in and takes all the ticket sales and percentages of all other receipts! The State Higher Ed board sure hid that fact, didn't they! I also have the full letter from Spirit Lake to the NCAA. You can PM me also!

There is also a lot that has not been public of what is going on at Standing Rock with Archie and his group. Archie and his group filed a lawsuit against the council in October for the council prohibiting a vote by their own people. Archie's attorney has been trying to get a ruling out of the tribal court and also the appellate court. No answer from the tribal court! How many of you know that Jesse Taken Alive, a current Standing Rock tribal council member, is one of the group that went to the NCAA and claimed that UND is racist and so is the name and logo? Another member of Jesse's group, Ron His Horses' Thunder, was the chairman of the council. I have the entire letter that Spirit Lake sent to the NCAA It will get posted shortly. I think we all should email the NCAA president and this Mr. Franklin and let them know that having different standards for these schools is unacceptable and that they need to right this wrong! Sioux Forever!!!!!!!!

I would like to know what the respective athletic fundraising groups have to say about a merger of the two schools. Can't imagine the Teammakers like the idea!

I also, have been working with Archie Fool Bear. He and his group have not received any money from REA. All this money for the continued fight has come from individuals. I think you should find out the facts before you state something so stupid! To all the people on this site, Archie and his group are doing a lot of things behind the scenes that not a lot of people know about. There are many things that will happen shortly to get that vote at Standing Rock. Instead of people complaining about non action at Standing Rock, get involved to help get that vote done!

Hey, the Summit League just wanted a decision on whether we were keeping our identity as the Fighting Sioux or not. They didn't say that we had to get rid of our name/logo for a chance to get into the Summit League. The State Higher Ed board, President Kelley and AD Faison decided not to wait until the deadline was over for Standing Rock to do something and they chose incorrectly. Plus we can't even compete in post season for another 2 years. Funny that football isn't even included in the Summit League - the number 2 money maker for UND. I do support UND athletic programs INCLUDING hockey. Believe me, the issue is not dead at Standing Rock!

Hello fellow Fighting Sioux name and logo supporters! Mr. Archie Fool Bear is in need of an attorney to take the "non-tribal full vote" of Standing Rock to the next phase in keeping our identity. Please let me know if you can refer someone. We must continue this fight! Remember, Once a Sioux, Always a Sioux!

He is confident that there are enough "yes" votes on the tribal council at Standing Rock to get the vote of all tribal members to keep our Fighting Sioux name, logo and identity. Remember, this is our first step, so please keep strong and offer any support you can to keep our name! Get everyone you know involved since we are in a huge fight against this politically correct minority. Let's show everyone what the majority can do! ONCE A SIOUX, ALWAYS A SIOUX! Go FIGHTING SIOUX!

I have been watching this blog since April 2010 when the foolish decision was made to retire our identity. I agree that a Bison fan or any other fan that is not tied to UND should tell us alumni, fans how to feel about losing our identity (mpls bison). I would suggest all of you that are in support of our Fighting Sioux identity to contact Mr. Archie Fool Bear at Standing Rock and ask him how you can help. I did this several weeks ago and there are so many things going behind the scenes that need our help. Mr. Fool Bear is really great and he's trying to get the Sioux voice heard at Standing Rock. I think that the State Board has bigger issues to worry about then to make the stupid decision to retire the Fighting Sioux name and logo! Just another insight, the State Board cares nothing for processes!
