Every fanbase wants to think they are above having idiots in their ranks, but no group is immune, UND fans included. NDSU just has a lot of "newer" fans who don't know how to be humble since the last 6 years is all they know. All us old Bison fans are just as embarrassed and annoyed when we here sioux chants at games that don't involve UND.

Yep...said that about 10 posts back.

I got plenty of grief Saturday night in Grand Forks.  It's may be worse in Fargo for all I know. I had a Bison hat on. Nothing too terrible. All in good fun.

I'm guessing you were talking during that time....I'm sure that didn't help.

I have never understood that mentality. They're on the verge of winning 5 straight....and they are thinking of team that didn't even make the playoffs. But we have those same fans too ....no matter who we are playing or what we are playing for, all we can talk about are the Bison or Gophers.

The team that played on Saturday looked very different from the team that got beat in Missoula.   I think that one area where there was huge growth was the defensive secondary.   All young guys that really improved.   It also seems that the strength and conditioning program is vital to building a team that can outlast the competition.

You're exactly right....their secondary was the weak link...mainly at CB during the first part of the season.

Who cares? Obviously, Ray does. He name-dropped, plain and simple.

You don't need to apologize for him. Just agree with me that it was uber-tacky to do it in a professional resume.

Name-dropping family members .....didn't know that was possible.

I don't get all the angst thats pointed at Hammer. It's not like the guy is a huge homer that knows little about the game of hockey. He's well prepared when he shows up for the game.

Personally, I think he does a very good job calling football and hockey games. Actually, he's one of the better football announcers I have heard on TV for small time college sports. I also watched last night's game on my iPad. He did fine. I enjoyed the broadcast. Both hosts and Kaite were well prepared.

I can imagine it takes a lot of work in your off time being able to be proficient at play-by-play for both sports.  Hammer knows his hockey inside and out. It's fun listening to some of the things he has to say. Hammer is a nice person. He doesn't deserve some of the guff he takes from the fans.

A lot of what you say here might be true....but don't kid yourself, Hammer does not know the game of hockey inside and out.

I know it's "early still" but it's a crazy league this year.

Boston College with a 13-4-1 record would be the last team in the tournament right now.

Whats up with Harvard barely playing any games. About half the number of games as UND. Must be a Ivy league thing?

BC has a tough stretch ahead in the next month. Providence twice ....BU twice....at Notre Dame ....Harvard(Beanpot)....BU/Northeastern(2nd game of Beanpot).

My how things change.   You now how have Dan Hammer(former TV play by play guy for UND football  and  TV hockey play by play guy for UND ) gushing all over the  Bison  today on KFGO radio.   Joel Heitkamp   (former UND backer) and Jack Michaels our very recent radio play  by play guy also gushing all overthe Bison on the radio.  Scott Miller used to be our play by play guy for UND sports  of course now  has been with NDSU for a long time.  Brian Shawn is the TV announcer  for Bison football.   I believe Brian  is a UND grad and was almost a sideline reporter for UND a couple years ago.   Ed Schultz was an  announcer for both programs.    These media people sure change their colors in a hurry sometimes.

Pat Sweeney would never gush about the bizon.
