It's a tournament. They'll do 20 minute overtimes til the cows come home. Someone has to win.
Yep....you're correct....and has nothing to do with it being a nonconference game. It counts as a win in the PWR, just as a win in the conference tournaments counts as a win in the PWR....UNLESS its decided by a shootout.( ex. third place game of NCHC tournament)

Pretty much - you only really have about an hour if you stay for the entire first game and want to be back for puck drop on the second - games at 4:08 and 7:38. At least this year they're ticketing each game, so none of that stupid, painful, ridiculous, (etc.) wristband crap when you head out between games.
edit; supposedly separate tickets. Mine haven't arrived yet.
If they have separate tickets ....wont they have to clear the arena after the first game?

Over priced, $20 breakfast buffet for a 12 year old. $10 mix drinks in the bar for people staying at the motel. Wouldn't let us in our room till after first game, even though I paid for "early check-in".
Good to know.

We're already the driver's seat with two games in hand. A sweep puts us in the express lane ... Anymore cliches?!
So you're saying we control our own destiny.

What would happen if BUF (0-4) and MIN (0-4) faced each other in a Super Bowl?
The Vikes would still be...."one or two players" away from.......

Wow. Talk about some #butthurt. When the Big Tenlevene Six hockey conference was announced everyone freaked out that it would destroy college hockey. Did it? No.
But we are in a bit of a perfect storm that Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State all happen to be at low spots in their programs' histories. To think that these first two+ years will forever define the Big 6 in college hockey is just naive. I understand that UND and Omaha walked into Philly and took the national trophy home to the NCHC and no Big 10 teams were there. But to think that the Bi6 is forever irrelevant in college hockey is nothing but wishful thinking.
But come on. We saw a knee jerk reaction called the "National" that was supposed to include BC, BU and Notre Dame. Instead we ended up with nationally recognized schools called St Cloud State, Nebraska (not the big red in Lincoln) Omaha, and D3 Colorado College (not to be confused with CU) in our conference.
If by the slightest of chances a UND president was ever offered a Big 10 affiliation in hockey, curling, debate team, Monopoly, bake sales, whatever , it would be stupid as &#@+8 not to take it.
While I agree with you that going to the BTHC is a no brainer, if offered .....the rest is just hockey hate.

If I was a scout for a team that didn't need a QB I would talk him up too so that another team wastes their first round pick. I think he will be decimated by a pro secondary unless he learns under a veteran .
This QB class is in fact the weakest in a decade because there is no way he is the best college QB in the country.
There is a huge difference between best college QB and best NFL QB prospect.

Would guess the record is Kevin Maxwell in the late 70's with 82 or 83 points, but recently not many putting up huge numbers. Not many players reach 50 points in a season anymore, especially freshmen.

Terrible play by Poganski throwing the puck up the middle of the ice from below the goal line in WM end.

Best team?
Colorado College.
They've tied UND in Grand Forks and beaten St. Cloud at the National Concrete Center.
If that's the criteria .....Best team? Omaha.

Judging a bobble head by its arms is kind of like judging a naked supermodel by her toenail polish. Just sayin'.
Great analogy. But if the naked super model is a lefty, but is carrying her stick like she's a righty.....its a deal breaker anyway.
Just so you know....the phrase just sayin' died about two years ago.

In the end this is all about dykswinging, so they should just pull them out. Have each team designate their guy. They'd have to require that guy to log a minimal amount of ice time, of course--say 3 minutes, That would open up one roster spot on each team for a regular guy with ordinary hockey skills but a python in his breezers. Probably be a crowd favorite, and his three minutes on the ice would be entertaining.
I guess ...if that's what you're into. Me? I would rather watch John Scott and 5 of his clones in a shootout version of Groundhog Day.

For now I like 3x3....because it has reduced the number of shootouts.
