They will be happy to tell us all though, that they are the defending national champs and won back to back National Championships.
.....and we will say we know how good those feel....we have 8 of them.

I guess I'm not sure how its chosen where the Legacy, St. Mary's, or Shiloh kids play their high school hockey. When I played BHS had a bunch of St. Marys kids on the team, but now the Curl kid plays at Century.
Divide Ave is the line. If you live South of it you play for Bismarck High.....North you play for Century.

Why do you assume UND gets to choose when they play in the quarters? Sure they have had the opportunity to do that in the Semi's of the Frozen Faceoff in years past, but this is a completely new thing. With there being at least 2 days off between the quarters and the semis, it won't really make much difference when they play. The #1 seed in the semis may be rewarded to pick when they want to play, but nothing official yet. And UND is not the #1 seed yet either.
I didn't say they would get to choose this year. I am assuming they will be the number 1 seed and the NCHC will have them playing the night game first round.

Couldn't agree more.
Anyone who thinks the people running the arenas that have been sitting empty (thus making zero money) are clamoring for less fans and making it as inconvenient for the ones they do get must be really listening to Fauci and have 4 masks on since it is clearly restricting airflow to their brain.Psssst....we're done talking about masks now.....let it go.

At least this year we won't have to argue which game time UND should choose in the first game of Frozen Faceoff. With at least two days off.....they will play the night game on Friday.

I've been to four UND games this season. Have yet to see an usher tell somebody to put their mask on.

Bast staying an extra year to play with his bro makes sense if that ended up happening. Should be an interesting off season for a lot of schools with players potentially staying another season and transfers.
We will have this discussion every year until the freshmen class is gone.

I've seen these waved off for goalie interference before. With the puck laying there could Brady have still made a play before getting bumped.
There's no way that's called a goal in the NCHC.

Now we are done with the Pios and getting our posts published on a world famous blog (well.....?), we are back to getting our posts published on a less famous twitter feed about how Omaha is our fiercest rival to date. Throw away the Denver scrums, dead gophers on the ice, a certain water bottle incident in Madison, Duluth getting pretty salty and ticking us all off, Stearns County School for Jan, no my friends....its Omaha.
I've complained a bunch about the schedule. Luckily nobody paid attention. I know we were supposed to play these games earlier, but honestly playing them four times in a row to end the year means bad blood boiling over like we saw in the Denver series. The league could have prevented this by directing Denver's flight to Ohio or Kalamazoo last week and having a bus trip for UND, SCSU, or Duluth, but its a Covid year, so I'll shut up. I'd rather see UND play Duluth or SCSU more than twice a year (my opinion of course).
To the matter at hand. Omaha swept CC last weekend building on what happened against Denver. They'll likely be the only team in NCHC history to win a 3 on 3 OT game with a 5 on 5 goal, you read that right. When we aren't taking an abundance of penalties and doing everything we can to irritate the fan base we are pretty good. When UND decided to play 5x5 for a stretch of Saturday's game they only gave up 7 shots on goal the last two periods. Omaha is much better on the power play than Denver, and what we learned from Saturday night in Omaha was that they'll beat UND if our guys give them a bunch of opportunities up a guy.
I've been told a sweep this weekend guarantees the Penrose cup, so there is that.
What about Scheel? What about Mismash? Other injuries? Jasper likely the NCHC player of the week?
UND needs 6 pts to eliminate SCSU from cup contention. Combination of a North Dakota win and a SCSU loss would do it.
UND needs 7 pts to eliminate the Purple Cows......Any combination of ND points gained a UNO points lost will do it.
Und needs 5 pts to eliminate Duloot. Any combination of ND points gained and UMD points lost .......
DU.....NO soup for you.....

If we won both games in o.t., that would put us at 48 points. If Duluth and St.Cloud still play CC, St.Cloud could get to 49 points, and Duluth 48.
Ok ...magic number is 6 points.

I think that would clinch a share of the Penrose....7 pts to get it outright.

The only thing worse than not being able to get the PP setup... is the guy in the stands yelling"c'mon we're on the power play"

Keane's penalty killing has earned him a spot in the lineup. He and Senden were out there together a lot. I would expect more of that.

Stick penalties were not the problem tonight. Only two of the nine penalties were with the stick.

Switch the goalies and you probably flip the score tonight so far.
How about if we switched one defensmen, a center and the extra skater....who's winning then?
