Their d will be just fine, probably better on the back end with experience actually. They won't win a title next year unless they find a way to stretch the field through the air on offense.

    Sounds familiar.

I agree, although at this point in his career the "locking on" problem might just be too ingrained.

At this point I'd settle for that and have him correct the issue of overthrowing wide open receivers on easy routes.

Hooker just as cold as the last Bison game.

Listening to the announcers earlier, he only averages about 9.5 pts/gm against NDSU. They just have his number defensively and you can see what that is. They roll a lot of double teams his way and collapse on him when he penetrates. Good defensive coaching by NDSU, have to give them credit. But Hooker also was just plain cold with some of his open looks both games.

Geno and Collins left the bench area during the scuffle

Epitome of stupid. The game is lost, just walk away from all the junk at the end. Things didn't go your way, don't do something stupid to jeopardize time for the next game.

  5. Some of the free throw woes are also coaching. Free throws are one of those fundamentals that can be taught and all players should spend time outside of practice. Those are easy points, gimme points, that simply need to be made. There's no reason why players should be shooting 60% or less from the line.

  6. Torrey Hunt, 3rd and long towards the end of the game, bat the damn ball away on the deep throw, don't go for the toss-up int when you haven't shown the ability all season to win those battles. Had he just punched the ball away instead of going for that pick, UND likely gets the ball back on a punt.

Damn. This one will hurt for a while.

Firing coaches isn't the answer, most likely. Just need to mature as a team and be better for 4 quarters.

Too many mistakes and big plays given up to win in 2nd half.

Most of the time I agree with the "firing coaches isn't the answer" but Rudolph has been getting by for awhile and bailed out time and time again. Much of the defensive struggles are put on the offense unable to sustain drives. That was evident this game in the second half. After that first drive in the 3rd, the offense did nothing. The problem is, that wasn't just something from this game. That is a trend.

  8. I really hope they reevaluate Rudolph as OC. Too many points this season where playcalling was terrible. Yes, we won a lot of games, but you don't give an OC a pass on 70% terrible playcalling and 30% brilliant. Those numbers don't mesh.

  9. This game just frustrated the crap out of me. How do you go from looking lights out to pissing yourself the rest of the game? Had we stayed the course and not tried to get cute with the offense in the second half, we win. Santiago didn't have it. Oliviera did. To put Santiago out there the last offensive possession was incredibly stupid.

  10. That was the worst half of football I've seen in awhile. Dumb penalties, blown assignments, terrible playcalling. I put this loss heavily on Rudolph. You have a 230 pound powerback getting you 4-5 yards a carry and you don't feed him the whole second half?
