Not necessarily, just that nobody else applied. Thought it was a more appealing job, but guess not. Especially odd that no D2 HC’s were interested.

    D2 HCs were interested.

You live the way you choose. I get that. I assume there’s been times in your life you’ve done something very good that’s helped define you?

    I'd like to think so.

I guess I'm not the judge of that specifically in the long run.

I'll know after I pass on.

    How about you?

Don't impose your respiratory droplets on me.

    Lock yourself down.

    Don't go out.

Wear a mask and a 6 foot separator apparatus that keeps your 6 foot social distancing around you if you do take the huge risk of going out.

I'll live my life the way I choose. You live yours the way you want.

Fargo Public School reopening survey is out:

    Parents......

    49% face to face

    33% hybrid

    18% virtual

    Teachers......

    45% hybrid

    28.5 face to face

    26.5 virtual

    That is shocking.

My wife has taught special ed for 15 years. She HATES distance learning for her students. Those students are at a huge disadvantage as well. Some of them can't wait to get out of their homes to go to school as an escape.

She is terrified of having to go back to distance learning again this fall and the repercussions that will go with it.

I'm surprised more teachers don't feel the same way.

She also has her summers off.;)

Yes, with a big part of that due to difference in how states are reporting it, which won't change with it being sent to Health & Human Services and then hidden from everyone. At least the data was semi-transparent with the CDC as people could see the source data and try to figure out what the differences are. Is government transparency not a good thing or did I miss a memo?

But since that isn't working perfectly, I guess the next step is to not let anyone see it? I guess that will cut down on questions about the numbers.

I guess I don't recall saying transparency is a bad thing. If I did, feel free to reference that. Transparency is a good thing.

All I stated was that the transparency you refer to has been woefully and embarrassingly wrong......most of the time.

Cite and quote all the stats and data you deem necessary.

Unfortunately, on this topic specifically, transparency doesn't equate to the truth.

Nothing, like he did.  Except he wasted people's time with a big presser to tell us he is doing nothing and leaving it up to districts.  That could've been sent out in a two paragraph release.

Right, but this is probably the best case scenario for North Dakota given all the variables (assuming he didn't mandate schools be open statewide, which probably wasn't likely).

I can only hope Governor Walz follows suit.

Northern Minnesota is not the same as Metro Minneapolis/St Paul.

2 different worlds. You cannot treat them the same.

If he wants to destroy the metro area, that's on him. But he should not destroy northern Minnesota simply because we reside in the same state.

Agreed, no one has been right. It is a novel virus and nothing was known about it 6 months ago. But I'm still going to at least defer to the experts opinions and at least listen to what they have to say instead of completely dismissing them instead of policiticians (on either side) or keyboard virologists.

As for moving forward, I'm in the same boat as you, people need to make their own decisions.

Ok, but respectfully......I also deferred to the experts and have been unimpressed with their results.

So, what's next? At what point do we decide ourselves what is expert opinion and hypothesis?

To your second point: will we ever be allowed to make our own decisions? If not, are you ok with that?

It is shameful, if only we had some leadership from our government as to how to handle a pandemic. Yet here we are fumbling the ball worse than most third world countries.

    Jeezus....incredible.

Can you at least change your name on here? It's offensive to 'redneks' and Native Americans.

Your wokeness is lacking. Seems counter intuitive to your ideals.

Things my common sense brain new before mid-March. Thank God I am a chosen one and not a sheep.

Any other brain busters in this thread? Can we kill the masks this masks bs talk?

    Huh?

Fauci said we should not be wearing masks. That was my point.

No, because wealth is only one measure of privilege.  It really isn't that hard to find any number of studies and essays on privilege to inform yourself.  You don't have to become "woke", but putting the least bit of effort into the issue can show things from a different perspective.
