It has now been 10 seasons since North Dakota became a Divsion I program.  I thought putting together a "team" from the last 10 years of the DI era at UND would be a fitting off-season topic.

Just a few guys off the top of my mind that have stood out............

    OFFENSE:

    Braden Hanson

    Greg Hardin

    Keny Gollady

    John Santiago

    Brady Olivera

    Josh Murray

    Jake Miller

    Defense:

    Deion Harris

    Dominique Hawins

    Donovan Alexander

    Cole Reyes

    Alex Tillman

    Dan Hendrickson

    Will Ratelle

    Ross Brenneman

    Garrison Goodman

    Dayo Idowu

    Special Teams:

    Brandon Hellevang

    Zeb Miller

I know I am missing several outstanding Offensive & Defensive Lineman.

    Help me remember!

Donovan Alexander finished in 2007. UND's first season of official Division 1 Football was 2008.

  2. So they're mad at Kennedy because....

Kennedy is being fiscally responsibly and cannot hand out raises given the recent budget issues and cuts made. The budget cuts of course came from the state level (them).

Also, Kennedy stated that he cant give raises because the funding isn't there at the state level and that he would need more money from the state to make it happen.

And he applied for the UCF job.

Do I have all of this correct?

The head of the North Dakota House Appropriates Committee & the head of the North Dakota University System & the head of the State Board of Education wrote President Kennedy a letter stating he has damaged his relationship with the North Dakota legislation.

What are the names of these idiots?

No, the move became possible because adding UND was necessary to stabilize the Summit. The MVFC schools acquiesced because a stable Summit is also their best interest. Once the nickname issue was resolved, all it took was for UND to ask.

UND officially dropped the nickname and logo in 2012.

Kennedy started the job in July of 2016.

By the fall of 2016, Kennedy was aggressively making his calls and visits to procure the move. This is fact.

In January 2017, the official announcement was made for UND switching to  Summit/MVFC.

That's a pretty fast move by Kennedy.

Are you saying nobody from UND "asked" for 4 years?

A move that was not possible until the MVFC finally caved and allowed UND to join.

    Because of Kennedy...

The move was made because of Kennedy's push and diligence with the MVFC and Summit.

I truly believe this was the reason it was done so fast (relative to Kennedy's arrival at UND).

doesn't his body of work look better on paper than manneasu?

Just my opinion.....Mike was the better candidate for UND.

But Morton looks good on paper, agreed. I'm simply stating what I know of the situation.

Again, Josh Morton is a good guy and will be successful somewhere.

just thought he would easily be a top 3 candidate...if not the top?

He applied and interviewed and wasn't named a finalist. I'm not even sure he was in the final 6.

Good guy. Will probably be successful when he's hired somewhere but just was apparently outclassed by the quality of the candidate pool in the committee's eyes.

  8. Kennedy fired Faison because he was bad at his job and had no energy. Kennedy only needed a year or so to figure it out after being told by many that it was the case when he arrived on campus as President. In addition, Faison's donor relations were abysmal.

I truly believe we are in a much better place with Kennedy and Chaves right now. The future is bright for UND.

HPC Phase II meeting was held today on campus.

    1. NCAA has a Native American nickname policy.

    2. UND settled a lawsuit with the NCAA

    3. Standing Rock voted against use of the nickname

    4. SBoHE told UND to retire the name in lieu of failing to acquire TWO tribal approveals as required in the lawsuit.

    5. North Dakota voters approved the removal of the state law requiring UND to remain the Fighting Sioux.

    6. UND retired the name and will acquire a new one in 3 years (2015)

    7. UND chooses Fighting Hawks from a group of nicknames sumitted.

    8. Ed Shafer chooses Fighting Hawk logo in 2016.

Fight is over. 8 rounds of this sh*t is enough. I and others have moved on.

#2.5 should be "Spirit Lake voted 2 to 1 to keep the nickname and logo".

#3 should be amended to "Standing Rock couldn't even get it on the ballot because of the political oppression of their own tribal council".

TheFlop  says grab some more Kool-aid as the decimation of UND will now resume. What were President Kennedy's odds to get the UCF job? Pretty low I'd. guess.

With the Ralph holding a celebration for the Lamoureux  twins it was a great time for him to leave town. Why didn't Kennedy want to be there to honor GF's UND's and America's heroes? Dumb question.

You can understand why Kennedy was telling his superiors get me the heck out of here. I cut what you tell me. Help me out on this. So they came through and got him the intverview  at UCF. Let the decimation continue.

Since there are only two real women's Olympic hockey teams there are only two places, first place and last place.  Congrats for pulling 1 out of the last 3 out.

Amazing how people are buying into whatever Kennedy says.  No matter who he cuts....what he cuts....what crony he turns around and gives the money too....how often he seems to be gone.....and even him clearly already looking for other jobs.....all he has to do is announce that "this is actually a good thing" and the public buys it.

Although budget cuts have stabilized, UND is still losing some of their best professors via attrition as we speak because of Kennedy.  The type of professors you just don't get back overnight.

    Incredible...

Kennedy is not going to make $1.3 million at UCF.  Hitt's $1.3 million salary in 2016-17 included a one time retention bonus of $491K, something the incoming president is not going to get.

I have been told by a reliable source that his salary would be north of 1 million, plus reasonably attainable incentives that could make it 1.3.

Even if I'm wrong, subtract the 491k from Hitt's salary and look where he's at.

Having said that, my gut says he doesn't get the job.
