  1. This year's team was a team without superstars and to be effective they needed to be able to roll 4 lines that could all contribute - offensively and defensively. Maybe they were no more banged up than any other team this time of year, but given their makeup, they had a thinner margin of error than most other teams making it to the NCAAs. Not an excuse, but one can understand the drop off in performance at the end of the year. The guy I feel the worst for is Mr. Ryan Duncan. Because of the way he conducted himself on and off the ice, played every game in his career at UND, stayed another 2 years after winning the Hobey, and other things too numerous to mention, he is my favorite all time Sioux player. Simply a great player and a great man. I really would have liked to see him leave with a ring.

I totally agree with you.I'm gonna miss Duncan so much,he's a class act,he defines what Sioux hockey is all about.I feel bad for all the seniors they've all worked their asses off for the last 4 years, and they deserved a title, but at least they got the MacNaughton. This is the best class I've ever seen,if not the best ever, granted I'm only 19.Look at all the success Toews and Oshie are having,Lee is doing pretty good,Chorney got called up today.Being a Sioux fan is awesome!

  2. I really missed TJ this season,it would've been awesome seeing him hoist the MacNaughton Cup with the rest of the team, who knows we might've been able to go all the way if we still would've had him.But it's great to see him making an impact in his rookie year,in what's bound to be a very successful NHL career.

  3. You 8 seniors are the definition of team first players.

You came in with a huge class 4 years ago. Most of you quietly stayed in the background working hard and moving forward while some of your classmates got most of the press (Toews, Oshie, Chorney, Lee). You have kept working with a NEVER QUIT attitude. You a probably the hardest working class that I have ever seen. None of you have ever hesitated to do what is best for the team without any question, whether it be sitting on the sidelines for the first part part of your career, switching positions, moving into different roles or whatever else was needed to help this team.

You have done what no other team has been able to do since 2004 - Win the league championship. Although a NCAA title gets more press, the WCHA championship is a MUCH harder task to accomplish and the only way to do it is to play unselfish and play as a team.

You are the perfect example of what it means to be a Fighting Sioux.

I feel so privilaged to have gotten to watch you for 4 years and because of you I have been extremely proud to say I am a Fighting Sioux fan. You have handled yourselves so incredibly both on and off the ice.

Good Luck to all of you. You will always have a special place in Fighting Sioux history. :(

That pretty much sums it up!Amen!

  4. This makes me sick to my stomach,I feel so bad for the seniors,I really wanted to see them win a national championship.Anyway thanks for the great season boys, can't wait for next year.

  5. Honestly, Crookston would have been better off droping their whole athletic department down to D3. Then they wouldn't have the problem of not being able to compete for the NCAA's if they were eligiable for the D3 playoffs. That's the reason why the MCHA voted them out of the league this year. They want to get their house in order so that they can pick up an autobid soon for the conference winner. Adrian is a little tired of getting hosed.

That's actually a good idea,I agree 100%.My whole life I've watched our teams get thier asses kicked,by D2 teams. We used to be D3 when it was a 2-year college, they should've just stayed there when they turned into a 4 year university.

  6. There was a little bit of talk about it here a couple days ago...

My dad is the athletic fundraising director at UMC.He's really dissapointed,we're all pissed off actually. It really was a great program,I'm gonna miss going to the games.Coach Warren worked really hard to build it up.
