    Just remember as Fighting Sioux nickname supporters we are all racists in the eyes of the nickname opponents. I think this week coming up is going to be an all important one. Here is what i think (wish) happens: Election held on the SR on Sept. 30th, due to the new council (minus RHHIT), the NDSBoHE decides on Oct. 1 to extend the deadline to Oct. 15th to allow a tribe-wide vote on the nickname. Nickname is approved due to the vote, SR signs approval just like SL and everyone (except a select few) are happy as UND will always be the Fighting Sioux!!!

    Let's cross our fingers and hope that happens!!!!

    The handwriting is on the wall...

    The name is going to be saved, so we can put all of these gloom and doom theories to rest once and for all. Thank you Spirit Lake, thank you State Board of Higher Education, and thank you to the nickname supporters at Standing Rock who continue to fight the good fight.

    We're by far the best fans in college hockey,the most loyal the most passionate without question.George's antics last year were completely out of line,he needs to keep his mouth shut.Him and Alana are probably just jealous that their fans aren't as good as we are.

    The song says it perfect!!!I've never felt this unsmypathedic about someone's death before in my life.I feel bad for his family,but he really was an evil human being.I bet Bobby Knight is doing a happy dance right now!

    I expect to hear more than this is an exciting time. I don't look at changing the name as exciting. If anything it makes me angry Ugh...

    Changing the name isn't exciting at all,it's really depressing.Makes me angry too.The fact that the university president doesn't seem to care about the name doesn't help anything.

    President Kelley has absolutely no say in whether the nickname and logo stay or go. He came into the situation when the decisions had already been made, the court case was already settled and the State Board of Higher Education (his bosses) were setting up a timeline. They tell him whether the nickname is going to change or not, the most he could do is give them a recommendation. His job is to make the best of the situation and try to move the University forward no matter what the final decision is. Any backlash should be directed at the ones that deserve it, the SBoHE and the NC$$.

    Oh I know,SBHE and the NCAA deserve more backlash then anyone,it is their fault.I just wish Kelley cared a little bit more.

    President Kelley thinks this is an exciting time? I don't know too many people that are "excited" over how the nickname and logo situation has been handled by the SBHE. Goofy choice of words in my opinion. Either he is really trying to spin this or he is oblivious to how alumni and fans are going to react if the name is retired.

    Maybe I'm being overly sensative but it kind of bugs me how carefree and chipper he is talking about the possability of dropping the Sioux name. He kind of comes across like it won't be a big deal.

    Yeah,I really don't think Kelley gives a !@#$ about the name and logo.Which angers me to no end,being the President of the university he should care about it more then anybody.If he doesn't care about our traditions and legacy he shouldn't even be here.He'll be getting a lot of backlash if the name and logo does end up having to be changed. :angry:

    Toews should have no competition now for the Blackhawks favorite son..................... plus if Kane ends up with jail time, they might get him to sign a contract for cheap as some teams may be reluctant to sign him after his off ice problems.........this could ultimately work out nice for the hawks.

    I agree with you.How could Kane be so stupid?.I thought he was way better then that.What's 20 cents to him anyway?...he's worth how many millions?.Nobody's perfect we all make mistakes,but c'mon now.REALLY!!!
