As long as both tribes vote to keep the nickname, that satisfies the settlement. The 30-year was something that the SBoHE came up with and are being dumb about it as the Spirit Lake used a word that essentially meant forever (Forgive me, I can't think of it right now). The SBoHE wouldn't accept that because they didn't have the words "30 years" in it
I think the word was perpetual.

they wont win and yes they use crosby a lot but they have to. crosby is one of the best players we have all seen in the history of the nhl so the nhl and tsn/versus has to capitalize on him being the face. hockey is buried on tv for the most part and needs to use sid. hell its not like he doesnt earn the praise and im also not saying others shouldnt get sick of sid as thats just being a fan of sport. just look at his body of work as a hockey player and hes still very very young and as long as hes winning cups and gold medals there will always be haters, comes with the territory. ovy is right there but he will be back in russia driving his cars 175 mph while sids working on his 2nd title. go penguins and go hawks!! im pretty sure sid/malkin/staal and others didnt needs refs help to win a title last season and if it really was that way then the capitals would have magically found a way to play the penguins
pittsburgh in 6 games and the nhl playoffs are just awesome. so much different from the regular season which doesnt make any sense but ill take it Crosby is a great player and a great leader I would never deny that.And he's already accomplished a lot in his short 5 year career.But I think he's a whiny little cry baby and an arrogant jerk.The way some analysts talk you would think that he's the only great player in the NHL which clearly isn't the case.If there is any justice in the world the Tuxedoed Twits won't repeat as Stanley Cup champions.The NHL playoffs are truly the greatest thing in the world.GO HAWKS!!!!!

I don't know, I would say that the Pens breeze through the East, the Habs might have something to say about that.
It'll be great if the Habs can take down the high and mighty Penguins.I'm so sick of the media talking about them like they're the greatest team ever and like Crosby is the second coming of God or something.GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

The petition being circulated at Spirit Lake by one Erich Longie will not result in a different outcome, the youth on the reservations tend to support the nickname and logo, they are more openminded than any of the anti-nickname fools. The youth will not be told how to vote and that since they disagree with the Ron His Horse Is Thunder, Jesse Taken Alive, or Erich Longie, they need to be further educated so their minds will be changed, that's Erich Longie's argument. Doesn't hold water, those individuals that are signing his petition, are the same individuals that voted with his bloc the first time, no large scale reversal. These fools are 100% afraid that the Standing Rock vote is going to mirror the initial Spirit Lake vote, I believe that the Standing Rock vote will result in an even larger approval percentage. So to you Best Buyson, the issue is not dead, it will be reconsidered, and we will be Fighting Sioux in 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13 and beyond, Summit League or no Summit League. This has always been about the loudmouthed minority of the minority, once the vote at Standing Rock takes place, these individuals will finally melt back into obscurity, without this issue to champion they have no cause. Not emotion, Fact!
I have Eunice Davidson as a friend on Facebook and I asked her about it.She said even if they get enough signatures another vote won't happen.She also said that a lot of people that orginally voted aganist the name and logo would vote to keep it today if they had another chance because some of the actions of the oppostion in one incident someone tore up the petiton when it was presented to them.

I'll stand by my opinion on a SR vote: at this point it doesn't matter if the SR vote is 100% for the nickname. It just won't matter. What's done is done.
The 'people in control' got what they really wanted and it's going to take a heck of a lot more than some rally and a SR vote to change that.
Not saying I agree with it, just calling it like it is.
Why don't you just go away your opinion doesn't matter here.

I just talked to Danielle she said that she's already talked to KVLY and she'll be talking to WDAZ later on this afternoon and the Herald will also be there.

Any event that only uses one medium is not going to have adequate turnout!
ie, facebook is not going to do it.
People need to get serious if you all want to effect change.
The media will give you the feeling that there is nothing left to do when in fact, you have done NOTHING!
Who is going to this thing tomorrow and how many people are you going to tell about it??
I'm going.And there's about 450 confirmed guests on the event page on Facebook.Danielle the one who organized this also did an interview with the Herald earlier this week promoting it.

Totally agree that the crowd has to get busy and make some noise. It was fun and loud on friday night, but the place had a hush over it last night. Make some noise and get into the gophers heads...especially Kangas' head. He hates our fans? Make him hate us more and send them home for the year!!!

Anyone else feel that our crowd SUCKED tonight? I swear I was going to start yelling at people in my section to get into it more. Very, very lame crowd tonight. Obviously I understand the whole, "we didn't have much to cheer for" rant, but our crowd was quiet from the get go I thought.
I know that half the students are gone, but come on, you don't have to be 20 to get loud during a hockey game, especially when it's against your rivals and the final 5 is on the line!
COME ON PEOPLE.....LET'S GET IT UP TOMORROW!!!!!

Parise a scratch in tonight's Devils/Flyers game. Devils organization wouldn't release why he was scratched, so not sure if it's health related. Anyone else heard anything?
I just went on the Devils website.They just updated it he has an upper body injury.
