I feel win we Saturday 4-2, Friday will be huge UNO will be amped up we have to come out on fire and shut them down, if we can do that we will sweep WE ARE THE BETTER TEAM

  3. Wow I must have been Siouxper lucky then. Just curious what do you think people are willing to or will have to pay to get in the door for this weekend?

Yes very lucky, there was a thread on this, but if memory serves me right online tickets were sold out in less than 1 minute, partially due to the box office at Scheels arena opening a few minutes early….however it is my understanding that there will be more tickets released once the schools are announced then it will depend on which schools and their fan bases…I think you can almost count on another NCHC team or regional team, if Mankato loses a #1 seed I can see them being put in Fargo, or maybe even Denver….I know the NCAA steers away from same conference but if 4-5 teams make it might be hard to do

  4. here is a mavpuck.com quote : I believe NCAA tourney-caliber teams should win at home and split on the road.
That doesn't mean we should win one at home and lose one at home. That means, this weekend, Omaha should SWEEP North Dakota (sorry, Bridget).
We have the home-ice advantage over a team that is one point behind us in the conference standings.
This weekend has nothing to do with past history with North Dakota. It has everything to do with PWR 2 at PWR 3 (tied).
Are we good enough to beat North Dakota at home twice this weekend, or not? If not, why not?

I like this, UNO is a good team and extremely fast, however if we bring our A game we could sweep because we are just better than them, however realistically I see a split, Friday loss, Sat  win has been our MO this season...a win and a tie wouild be better with a shoot out victory to get a little payback

  5. I got tickets in section 114 next to the student section it appears. I'd guess this is the end uno shoots on twice?

it appears so per the seating chart...I wasn't sure either so we went with section 120 right behind the sioux bench

  6. Looks like uno is promoting a blackout this weekend.

Let's ruin their blackout and green it up!

Good to know I was going to break out the lucky black jersey for the big series. but looks like I will stick with traditional green road wear…black jersey will stay at home

    :)

  7.

    Awesome....will be there..

UND will be lucky with a split unless they finally have their Friday monkey off their back. Blais has his squad playing well. It will be interesting to see if either teams tweak their style based on the effectiveness CC had against both of them....this should be playoff hockey and UND needs to come out with an NCAA tournament mindset....sure a loss against this team won't kill them but UNO style of hockey east/WCHA smashmouth is exactly how the other top teams in the country are playing, this is an excellent opportunity for UND to come out and set the tone for the rest of the season and solidify their run for #8

  8. Last year the local turnout was extremely weak considering it was a hyped up outdoor event. Got tickets a few months back had no problem selecting lower bowl seats, $25 any lower bowl, got seats right behind Sioux bench even on the aisle one of the nights, looking forward to great series and Sioux sweep

  9. Went last year for the outdoor game….will be there this year for both nights….got a room at Hilton. Last year the Sioux party was at the Mattress Factory, crossing fingers for good driving weather last year was a bit below average on the way home :p

  10. If..........and it would be a big if...but if UND loses one of these games could one say it might be one of the worst losses in the history...of history...which would be only slightly ahead of the loss to BC last January?

    Simple question

If not then it would be right up there…#6 PWR vs. #59  that’s one heck of a spread…

  11. So you think UND played down to the level of Minnesota in the Frozen Four last year because they underestimated them and that's why they lost?... seriously?

No…. we played are hearts out that game….I have witnessed many loses in the last few minutes of games do to mental break downs, this team needs to stay focused, Friday night against UMD is a great example along with Bemidji home opener and Lake Superior State, yes we won that game and  I do believe it was a great character win but then why come out so flat against UMD.

Crush Niagara , Crush CC then get prepared for a grueling end of year schedule….

  12. Actually, I completely disagree. Sure, we need to play with tenacity, but it means absolutely nothing if we blow them out. A win is a win is a win. We won't blow teams out 7-0 in the tournament. Having our team win close games where they need to claw and scratch right until the last horn is what will benefit us most in the long run.

Regardless, we need to win Friday night. Then... move on to Saturday. Good old cliches ring true. One game at a time.

There is no reason why this team should be scratching and clawing against Niagara and CC ….sometimes this team seems to play to the level of its competition problem is what happens come tournament time when you under estimate your opponent and what happens when you have a horrible .6 sec mishap.…bottom line this team has the talent to put teams away and they need to do that

  13. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to roll to two 7-0 victories, but the Ws look the same in the pairwise if they are 1-0. Get the sweep... all is well.

Yes however this team has the potential to make a deep run in the NCAA and outings like Friday night against the Dawgs just won’t cut it….they need to put there foot on the pedal from here on out…play with tenacity every game and stomp all opponents… 4 shut outs and double digit point totals over the next two weekends would sit better than 4 one or two point down to the wire victories going into the UNO series on the road….
